I had to quit playing because of the massive rubber banding. Especially in the klingon star cluster mission it was impossible to even kill a single enemy ship because of the lag
Ditto on the really heavy lag issues - but I've got more than that going on...
I'm on a Q6600 with a pair of GTX260 running SLI - yesterday I could run the game at 1920x1200 with all the graphics options maxed out at around 45-50fps no problem.
Today after the patch, even with everything turned off at 1920x1200 I'm lucky if I'm getting 10fps out of it... effectively making the game unplayable.
Bad patch - very bad patch.

Great, now it won't even start... "Gameclient.exe has stopped responding"

Same here and i get this lag & rubberbanding in CO & STO. Most of the time its unplayable. I'm connecting from germany and so I've done a "/tractert www.startrekonline.com" and i can see problems when iam routed through tinet.net.
Worked for me in EU but it does bring its own problems especially when the servers get heavily loaded.
I can no longer log in without a proxy as I have the same problems you guys have described.
Same here from France,
Never ending loading screens, i had to quit playing for today.
I was already in a bad mood with these down server european peek time during a weekend ... The best maintenance time have always been round 1 am PST making almost everybody happy. Does 15 years MMO running didn't teach anything to editors ?
Yep, same in US. They better do whatever they're doing faster or just take down the servers for maintenance again to avoid frustrating everybody with this problem!
I haven't got time to go into this now, I'll get back to it later but for me the lag was caused by the patch download creating a new folder rather than the default where the STO.exe is located. I therefore had two separate installations of the game with resources being used from both.
Let me know if it's the same for you.
Edit: May have spoken too soon about it causing lag issues. I'll update as I know more.

Ive only had one server not responding message and no lag since, it was at a station alot of ships where around but its been fine since then but ive only just started a few days ago i probably havent been in a realy heavily populated area yet

I can confirm that a simple reinstall and repatch has solved the ultra lag issues I had and I no longer have to connect through the proxy.

Thankyou for this!
UK player here and since the patch been getting terrible rubberbanding with up to 3-4 seconds of control "lag".
After setting the proxy to EU STO is loading faster and running smoother than it ever has.
With regards to the fresh install, I had a problem while installing the season one update, the patching process corrupted at some point, resulting in my having to do a clean install and repatch so while I'm glad it fixed your issue and allows you to run without hte proxy, it may not work for eveyone unfortunetly.
Thanks for the update Wesker, sorry it didn't work out quite as well for you.
Thanks especially to Enioreh who put me onto the proxy tip. Credit goes to the original poster somewhere in the Tech Forums whom I can't seem to find the name of right now

Maybe its only a problem for european players?
Start up the Launcher.
Click OPTIONS in the top of the page
Set Proxy to your region
Click OK
Log in and see if that works.
