Federation Assault Cruiser - Imperial Class (240 Cryptic Points)

A variant of the Sovereign Class, purchase of this option unlocks the Imperial Class ship parts for your Rear Admiral rank Federation Assault Cruisers. Note: Purchase of this option unlocks these parts for all Rear Admiral rank Federation Assault Cruisers on an account.

This is good, okay.

But far better would be to add the "Akira Skin" or the "Defiant Skin" for the T5 Escort Ship. The "Constitution Skin" the "Galaxy Skin" for the T5 Cruiser Ship ....etc.
I will see a Akira in Group with a Intrepid, a Galaxy, a Nova and a Excalibur fighting the Borg in Gamma Orionis Sector. So many beautiful ships to use the end can not because they are too weak.

And Klingon I love the B'rel and i will use the ship on Lt. i wil use the ship on Lt.Cmd. ....i will use the Ship on Rear Admiral.

Please make some packages, the more variety in the upper areas comes in with the existing ships.

I'm really not sure what you're complaining about. The package you quoted (and the concept of a skin) is just a coloration package for an existing ship. So I can take my Intrepid class and give it a skin - a certain coloration scheme - that makes it look even more cool than usual. That's all. It doesn't change anything fundamental about the ship itself.

It is actually a new 3-D model, not just a paint job / texture for the outside of an existing model. Of course the stats remain the same as the rest of the Assault cruiser.

    Pics in this thread:

To the OP, there are more coming, hopefully we'll see some canon classics as well as the 'new' designs.

I hope they won't just use the low-tier models with the high-tier stats. Things like cramming 1000 crewmen in a Constitution or 200 in a Defiant would be ugly. I would prefer it if they come as complete variants the Constitution for example with it's smaller crew and the original turn rate.

Well as an admiral with an advanced escort I prefer more ship variants for escort vessels. The designs for the fleet escorts need a makeup, too. They look terrible.

I second that. The Fleet Escort variants are hideous. That is part of the reason I chose Advanced..aside from the fact that I wanted the Science slot over the Engineer slot. Some Escort packs would be nice to see. So far it's all be Cruiser(granted the bridge packs can be used on any ship), but some variant love for the other T5 ships would be much appreciated. You can start with the Escorts. ;)

It could be a breakthrough for this issue of lower tier ships if they give each ship abilities inherent to the chassis that are activated as the character that uses them increases in level. Two examples from the escort line of ships would be

The heavy escort gains heaver shielding capabilities when the captain gains T3 access, when that captain gains T4 the hull is reinforced, and at T5 it gains the "carrier" attribute.

The tactical escort gains better shielding and maneuverability at T4. At T5 it gains a little more maneuverability and an increase in inherent speed attribution.

In other words, the chassis kind of grows with the captain.

If the imperial class soverign is any indication of what they have in store for vairents its likely to kiss your high end intrepids and galaxy class ships dreams good bye.

actually I was disapointed that theres little to no reason to use or keep any of your ships from lower tier. Which is disapointing.

It's not just a skin. It's a new model. Google is your friend.

They made it sound like there was numerous new skins for our 'old favourites' , we got one horrible skin , so why lie? couldnt they tell us 'one new skin for cruisers'.

Very dissapointed , seems like the server has taken 10 giant leaps backwards not forwards.
