Why did someone think it would be a good idea to allow the NPC's to not only be able to summon reinforcments BUT also lay down a holo projector that summons even more ?
Just completed the encounter but my god it was just crazy at one time there were so many cardasians it would have been better to beam back to the ship destroy the station and rebuild it.

that's why Starfleet sent you, they knew you could get the job done!
When I tried the DS9 fleet action we got pushed back all the way to the respawn area 3 times; it can get pretty brutal in there.
It was still fun, but it really emphasised the need for a 'target device' key to make taking out the holo-projectors a little less infuriating. Tab targeting can be too unreliable, and manual targeting is pretty useless when there is a whole squad standing directly in front of the generator.
I enjoyed it immensely. However between people not reading what to do -
"Use the key on the force field!"
"What key?"
"The one you didn't read about!"
LOL and
"Stop passing on the key!"
Because my team shared the drops, and the icon for the key looks like a normal ship console drop.
((Which reminds me: HEY DEVS! You need to change that icon to something that resembles a key.))
- Yes, that fleet action is utter chaos! Yet, I really enjoyed it. It seriously takes a multitude of teams or players to get through it. My team of 5, which quickly turned to 3 because it was basically futile effort, were getting nowhere until about a dozen or so more players came in. Maybe I'm overestimating, but there were many.
Same kind of immersion-less content you see in the Infected. Be it spammed with Borg or Cardassians, this type of zerg gameplay has absolutely zero star trek feeling to it at all. I did DS9 and watched how the mechanics of this game reduced the federation to run up, shoot, die, respawn and repeat.
It felt so cheap, so dirty, I genuinely felt embarrassed for Cryptic. I know there are people on your staff who deeply care about Star Trek online, but who ever is the guy in charge of the team and making the final call on what to put into the game, well that guy is nuts!
i enjoyed this too but it can be difficult if people don't realize that killing the legates will kill the photonic devices and killing the photonic devices will kill the endless photonic gil officers that are streaming out all with plasma grenades no less. i do think they need to remove that cause you cant even stand there long enough to target if every one of those guys are throwing grenades at you suddenly. however i think this was meant for 20 people.
I've tried this one a few times but so far no win. I can usually get to the second stage where you need to bring down the force fields and can get around 2 of them down, but by the time that happens people usually get frustrated and start beaming out. I'm usually stuck by myself or with maybe 3-4 others. Of course those 3-4 beam out once they see everyone else left too.
There have always been a few people in zone chat giving out directions on what to do, but we just can't seem to do it. Once people start dropping to the hologram spam it just spirals from there until everyone respawns and starts beaming out.
I'm not ready to give up on it just yet, but I have to admit it is quite aggravating. The Big Dig on the other hand was completely awesome. Would like to see more like that one.
It was awesome when you finally get to the Command Room and your elbow deep in Cardassian's. I didn't know they were related to rabbits ... or is it tribbles.
The spawn rate can seem a little excessive in places if your on your own, its obviously designed for a lot of players which is a good thing.
We need a few more of these designed for more than five people, now if only we can get them to allow for larger teams we'd be well away.
The only thing I didn't like about it was that if you don't know about it, you miss out on the space battle at the end, after you finish is Ops. That needs sorting out, most people miss that.

I went back looking for this, how do you access this? Once Ops is done you get a ranking on the screen and a countdown to reset. I tried going back to the shuttles thinking that might be it but they were still locked.

You have to talk to the captain again, he should tell you about it and then tell you to exit through the shuttle bay, which should then unlock the doors for you.
To tell you the truth, I've actually missed it myself when I've done it. But that is what I was told you need to do to access it. When the game is working, I'm heading back in to give it a shot.

Yes. That makes sense. As I was looking around waiting for the reset, I did notice the locked shuttle bay doors and wondered what it was for. Guess I'll have to plow through the chaos again and check it out.

i tried it and did not work for me, captain said nothing and the doos did not open. so if anyone knows exactly what you have to do id like to know
At first it was fun. But there are simply way too many enemys there. The Corner just before the last room ist silly. I would rather see less but stronger enemys and more tactic involved.
Also: I have to lower my graphic settings for this mission if i want to play with a reasonable framerate.
Every one of you who actually defends Cryptic's design philosophy of making ground encounters with eleven-billion mobs is part of the problem.
This is not good game design and is not a challenge. It's an annoyance. It's tedium.
Hell in the Big Dig, so many damn Reman npcs spawn that they make my system chug, a system which is so slouch by the way. This notion of throwing trash mob after trash mob at us has to stop.
Make challenging fleet encounters, not meat grinders.

We need more of these fleet actions!
