Ok Devs...you have totally outdone yourselves on this one. I love it! You scaled it correctly, the doors do not look like a Giant was the previous captain of my ship, you added a Star Roof (Sun roof) to the ship, and the colors are amazing! Great job, Devs...absolutely love it! Some hotty in the Dev Studio needs to give the designer of that bridge a big kiss and take them out on a date, for me! That bridge is total love.

I also (while I have your attention) would like to congratulate you on a job well done with the Klingon version of the Transporter Beam. Very nice touch and thanks for going the extra mile :)

I guess when there are tons of other things that are more pressing than an in game graphic, yes. Just depends on who you are and what your outlook on life is, I guess.

I used to work for a government department, and we tried our very best to provide services to the community. We worked long hours and put all our effort into doing the best job we could. And you know the only time we ever heard feedback from most of our clients? When something went wrong. Suddenly "oh typical lazy government TRIBBLE us over don't care about us rar rar". Nevermind the effort we put in when things went right, the only time anyone noticed was when things went wrong.

What I'm saying is, a bit of positive re-enforcement never hurt anybody.

This might be a silly question but is this bridge only for the Star Cruiser class ship or can it be used on others?

    Can be used on all

and it is FRICKING great, make more like these propper sized bridges and you have many many happy people :)

Liked the size of the light cruiser ones to but the layout just wasn't for me.

These star cruisers however really makes you feel you are int he command centre of a ship, many consoles many empty! seats which is of great us for RP.

Please tell us how it worked if you do. After looking at the screenshots I thought that it was way too large for a bridge, but if you say that It's scaled properly and I could use it on my fleet escort I would maybe try them out.

If you have no Cryptic points leftover, don't bother to buy the Federation bridge packs:

The chairs don't match the char models. They float in the air.

The Klingon bridges are better, though I would still question if they are worth money at all.

tbh, It still is a HUGE bridge, it just isnt 50feet tall like the others.

Its a properly scaled bridge in height and with all the centre consoles near eachother, you wouldnt have to shout with a megaphone to your helmsman but its still a massively wide.

If cryptic want praise, they fix the ridiculous existing bridges before they'll get any on this issue. Otherwise it's purely proving the point that Cryptic are releasing substandard componants to this game free - proper ones for pay, just to line their pockets.

It is - as about everything ship related - too large.

This bridge is (significantly) larger than the command bridge of a 6000 crew nuclear aircraft carrier and about three times the size of the DS9 command center - A ridiculous, baseball-field-sized behemoth with space for 30 people working on it.

I really don't know who's outlining basic interior design at Cryptic, but you guys need to take a long hard look at how the in-canon bridges in the series and films are designed: Small team and relatively stable bridge sizes throughout the different ship classes.

Ah well, that's all in vain anyways because Cryptic's already shown that they don't take 'canon' or 'trek spirit' seriously.

    Frex

If they brought the outer walls in to just before where the inner circle ends, it woulda been perfect.

I am sorry to say but this new star cruiser bridge looks like its meant for a starbase and not a starship.

I am unclear as to why people like the design which is fair enough since aesthetics is subjective after all, but the size is still wrong. I feel like sitting in Cape Canaveral doing a launch sequence for a missile rather than command a ship. It needs rescaling really and i would also love to have the option to test the bridge before buying it.

Top right, by the mini-map theres a little down triangle arrow thing.

Click that and you'll see the "Visit Bridge" option, next to the Cstore etc.

Bridge only works in social areas, like sol system etc

can use em whenever you like right? as long as you are not in combat.

But HANDS OFF my bridge, I like the size are it fits perfectly with my character being and R&D officer having a lot of bridge space to monitor all that experimental stuff we come up with is quite handy.

though you can use it on escorts I wouldn't seeing it would seriously affect the structural integrity of your escort if you put a bridge on it half as wide as the ship is :P

I've seen the pics of the bridges and while they look nice, they also look too much like each other. Bridge packs need a greater variety of looks to appeal to a larger number of players. Might be able to sell more of them that way.

I actually liked the size of the bridge. I do not feel like I am cramped on my bridge, there is enough room to invite friends on and enough room to walk around. Enough room to fill 10 stations with 10 Bridge Officers. I always felt that small bridges just seemed to crowded. The Enterprise D had a large bridge. When I had seen the Enterprise E's bridge, I thought they had made it way too small. The Actors in that movie looked like they were going to have a claustrophobic reaction in there and could not breath air that was not already used by another person.

Personally, I feel the bridge is perfect sized. But maybe to appease the crowds the Devs would be nice enough to come out with small and large versions of all bridges in the future?

To answer some questions I had seen in this thread. Yes you can use this bridge on any ship. It costs 200 Cryptic points. And once you purchase it, you can use it on all Federation Characters.

I think one of the Devs here (can't remember who) said that they made the bridges/halls big so the players will not be clipped when the camera moves about.

Saying that i feel that Cryptic did rescale the players to fit the environment better now.

I agree with you that people will remember you for the last bad thing you did. Positive feedback on what they did right is also a good thing to do, however feedback on whats wrong need to continue as well or cryptic might think they've done a good job and let it go (to the TRIBBLE chute).

Like someone else mentioned in the beginning of this thread, getting fixed what was suppose to be fixed from the start is considered going the extra mile? Like I said positive feedback and constructive criticism are great and lets keep it that way but at the same time don't give too much credit where it is not due.

P.S. Scaling still too big. :D

    That is so true!

Those of us that actually have jobs should understand this.

How many times have people worked hard, put in extra effort, etc and then wonder..."why do I bother? Nobody cares."

Hearing a "thank you" once in a while is appreciated. Sadly, many in society don't understand that anymore.

Even though someone is just doing his job doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a thank you now and then.

I think the new bridges look great. And the Reclaw variant for Klingons is awesome, and has provided me a new wallpaper. I particularly like the improved lighting compared to the stock bridges. Kudos to the art dept.

Its definitely too big to be an Escort Bridge. But after seeing this new bridge on my Imperial. I have new found faith that they will roll out new Escort style bridges when they bring out the variant.
