Why is it takinglike 10-15 minutes now to even load my character selection on load up? Paying to play in basically an open beta is getting TRIBBLE. We're paying to play while you guys continue development that really should have been done before the game was even released.

I'm guessing something in the server cluster crashed, probably to do with the log-in server. It suddenly feels like a couple of months ago again. :(

Stop rushing this TRIBBLE out, we do not want TRIBBLE.

Fix some damn bugs and do your job.

We are not a bunch of game testers and I sure as heck wouldn't want to have to pay to be one.

Having a bug or too is one thing, having more post patch than pre patch and not resolving the first ones is just a waste of our time.

On top of that really the game play has degrade noticeably, you did not make the game more interesting, you just made the mobs tough us weaker and thats not my idea of improving game play. Fix there AI's give them different skills or something, making their weapons hit harder and our shields softer is just a lazy way of slowing down the game.

Ya, I am pretty PO'd and disappointed, and ya there will be no continuation of my subscription.

You should of just fixed the problem you had first instead of trying to bring new stuff in on top of what already had issues.

I agree this is Beta level garbage you should of left it on tribble for 3 more months and really made sure this was an improvement.

Umm what game you playing? Whens the last time map scaling wasnt an issue, or stuff zoning in under the the surface. How bout splitting a stack of items or not having a quest complete, I could go on but at this point we all know what they are. (at least most of us do.)

Simple: fix whats broken first before you go adding more stuff as then its just harder to track down the orginal problem. Trouble shooting 101

And yes I sound ****y, I was expecting a much better quality patch that did not just throw more goodies at the players and hope they did not notice the garbage.

People act like internet lag and server hiccups are some dark dire thing. Welcome to the world of online gaming my friend. It's usually fine but mileage may vary.

i am starting to get a little annoyed with teh dev team here i mean come on i am paying to play the game and it continuinally freezes on me ever since the new patch came out, i love the game but come on here why havent these issues been fixed... oh i know why cus the dev team only has one freaking server and keep trying to add new stuff when they should have fixed the basic issues of connectivity before the release of the game.

what?? you mean it's not exactly like playing a console game where far fewer variables are involved and usually if something goes wrong I can see what the problem is and fix it right away?? oh dear...back to ff7...

It's not 3:00 A.M. pacific, so the servers aren't down for maintenance yet.

Also, this sort of **** always happens within the first three months of release. Publishers rush release and then pressure for content updates. Cryptic has to both address the remaining bugs and release regular content updates while they get flak from both customers and their corporate overlords.
When you have any sort of software that runs on a wide array of servers and has to serve thousands of different clients from all over the world, there's going to be snags.
There's hundreds of thousands of lines of code in this thing, and one period mistyped as a comma can cause a bug that only happens when one person from one particular IP address fires a certain weapon at one exact spot in one map on a date that's a multiple of three. There's no way to fix, let alone FIND, all the bugs in the code with a test group as small as a public beta. There's a slew of bugs that will only appear when the system's trying to deal with thousands of clients at once, and, unfortunately, nobody's got the resources required to fix all those bugs in under three months, if at all. Everquest 1 is still around and even it still has unresolved bugs.
All software has bugs and software that has to deal with thousands of users in a constantly changing environment is naturally going to be more buggy than software designed for one specific hardware platform that cannot be altered. Dealing with bugs is just part of playing an MMO. Sure, it would be great if it wasn't, but nobody's perfect, so no game is going to be perfect.

omg these people are starting to sound like the republican party's bought out news broadcasters repeating opinions over and over and over. "the game isnt finished the game isnt finished"

anyone who has ever played a mmo knows that right after a patch there are problems that creep up which they then must squash. the fact that they are doing a maintenance on a saturday should tell you its an emergency one.

secondly, mmo's are NEVER a finished product they are continuously updated and patched with new content and fixes that is just the nature of the code. if anyone has a better more powerful code out there drink a tall glass and sell it to bill gates and become a billionaire.

lastly, the devs are not the ones doing the maintenance on the new patches so no its not the devs fault when something like this occurs its no ones fault it just happens and they are on top of it.

please people for the love of christ stop posting idiotic rants and just deal with it. its going to happen on any game.

and no this is not a troll these people are just repeating themselves and its time to think about what you guys are saying.

I was going to be nasty here but I will not and I will just state the facts.

I have 50mb High speed internet, I have 9800gtx 1gig vid on a Phenom Quad at 2.3ghz with 8gig on board.
I have 7200 rpm 860gig HD SATA. No this is not the best computer avalible, and yes you can drop $100 a month for even faster internet.

Heres where the rubber meets the road however,

I run dual monitors and I have widgets that monitor such items as Memeory, Processer Usage, Internet Bandwidth and well you get the idea.

Prior to the patch all 4 cores were used pretty hard, bandwidth was average for a MMO and Memory runs about 40 to 45% (I have very little in the way of services running and usually ave about 18% without the game on)

Now Post Patch - All 4 cores burried. At times 100% on all 4 for more than a split second, to the point it makes the PC stutter. (This is not lag, this is poor Processor management)

Memory usage has stayed about the same and my bandwidth is unchanged. If this was a server issue I would see this in my transfer of packets and packet loss, if this was IP related I would also see this and would see increased time in ping. This is not happening.

What I see is my 4 cores just getting harmered while very poor use of my GPU is ever made. (GPU is chugging along like Im watching a Flash Vid. There is action, but its not like when Im using AfterEffects CS4 or playing LOTR with video cranked) - BTW I have not changed a thing on vid settings I run at 2/3rd setting with game defaults (Pre and post patch)

The problem IS in the code.

(I played Muds for years and I know all about server and net lag, server and net lag does not make your entire PC stutter) (I do agree there is a server issue on their end, just watch chat when you type something in and see it delay in posting (that is a server issue)), but I once again restate, they have a bigger problem and it IS in the code.

Mark my words within a year there will be a patch that will address a memory leak issue, GPU performance or something to that affect. I just hope it happens sooner than later.

Your absolutely right, its an MMO and its never done.

I have played em all and I have seen good and I have seen bad.

My point here, this is the first time I have ever felt so upset about what has occurred that I actually even bothered to waste the time to make posts.

Please do not compare my gaming to politics.

Sure there will be bugs, I do not believe I have ever disputed this, but this is pretty damn bad.

And yes I know exactly where me and my money can go if I do not like it. But the forums are here for all to voice their opinions and even if mine do not agree with yours, mine are none the less valuable.

    Have a good day,

Facts are nice, thank you, it's refreshing to see instead of...everything else. It's interesting that the one thing you didn't get is the connection issues others are having right now, including me. Packets not being recieved, timeouts, etc. I got "timeout while waiting for gameserver address" after waiting to see what a stalled load screen would do., and I've sent about 100k packets more than I received (585,100 sent 470,000 rec ). Count is so low because I reset it earlier today when I first ran into this fun new issue. But I wasn't really worried, until I read your post...
