I just wanted to say ty to the devs for the lifer commbadge, it really stands out and i love it. Kinda a mx of the reg combadge and the admiral rank pin from TMP days and the UFP wreath. awesome.
The combadge is quite epic. Kudos to Cryptic for doing this on your own time off the clock to make LTS stuff happen. Ultimately the thought means more than any of the items in the end.
SUPER MEGA SPESHULZ WOW!!!!!! Thats the coolest combadge EVAH!!!!!!!!! Its like a combo of the standard combadge and the badge some of the comodores wore in the TOS episodes!!!
Very nice.
I just think these lifer perks are getting excessive.
A great way to add division of classes in Star Trek lore.
I thought the perks were detailed in the pre order package and yet they keep comming.
How bout giving some monthly subs some perks in the interst of retention Cryptic.
I thought the combadge was really pretty. A little too pretty. I just don't like having that much bling hanging off my chest. But I appreciated the gesture all the same.

I want to thank them as well. I decided to try it out after visiting the Captain Table bar. Pretty neat looking.
Also, I would like to ask for a exclusive avatar icon that we can use on the forums for lifers and veterans with 3 months of commited paid service alike. I know I am being greedy, but at least I am thinking of everyone who has shown commitment to the game.
Can't we unlock ALL clothing options for ALL players.
Would that be so bad?
Do we really need to cater to certain Lifers self elevating BS.
They already rec'd there Reclaimed Borg and the like.
Just because I could not afford a lifetime Sub at the time of release does not make me less of a fan or less committed to this game.
I think these impromtu perks are getting excessive and divisive.
I'll offer a point of view from the other side of the fence. I was highly annoyed when the game launched and Federation Klingons and Ferengi playable races were on the C-Store. My thinking was "I just spent $300 and haven't even played the game more than a few minutes. Is Cryptic really trying to nickel and dime me for more already with the state the game is in?". Frankly, it was offensive.
I can understand paying for (and certainly expect to pay for) expansion packs. I can even understand Cryptic placing Tellarite's up on the C-Store. I imagine the conversation went something like this:
Dev 1: Some of the players are asking for Tellarite captains.
Dev 2: ...
Dev 2: There's no way we can justify the development time/resources that's going to cost us on a feature that is going to be used by so few people.
Dev 3: Why don't we put them up as a C-Store purchase. That will help offset the development costs and allow us to provide Tellarites to players who really want them.
Dev 1: Sounds like a plan!
Ok, I get that. It's a good way of giving players content that might not otherwise make the cut in terms of investment versus reward. But Ferengi and Klingon avatars were an entirely different situation. Their art was already completed as it was needed for other parts of the game. Placing them on the C-Store was a grab for more money, plain and simple. I'm not wild about new bridges and ship variants showing up for sale there either.
So, as someone who has already paid a hefty sum for a game this early in its life, with it being in the state it's in, yet I'm still being hit up with one minor fee after another - well, if Cryptic wants to give me some extra fluff as a thank you, let's just say I think it's the least they can do. I can understand you being upset that lifetime subscribers are getting extra fluff, but frankly I think lifetime subscribers have a lot more reasons to be upset right now. About 300 more.
I just want to make it clear that I have a lot of respect for the amount of work the development team is able to complete on such a tight schedule. The offense I feel every time I see certain things going up at the C-Store isn't aimed at them, but rather the concept of micro transactions on top of monthly subscriptions (when it's usually one or the other, not both), and the greed behind that decision, wherever it came from.

It's a weird design choice...

You'll have to talk to TOR devs about that

And so all their plans & reasons for all the recent lifer perks (since the membership plan is still available) has borne its first fruit.

Yup. Thats why they are spending time programming them in. So that people will be convinced to buy a lifetime sub.
Not precisely true. Since they did the exactly the same thing on Champions and you haven't been able to buy a Lifetime there since before Launch.
On champions instead of a combadge, its an emblem. But same notion.
