Has everyone just stopped looking at the exchange now due to high prices? I have had several items up for sale now for weeks with no takers. I am selling them all for under value as well. I have a Mark VI Covariant Shield with Cap+Reg for 5000 under value and still no one is touching it. I would just sell it to a shop but I would rather another player have it since that is a great shield for Commanders out there.
I just bought a mk VI shield on the exchange, but opted for a Rare with higher cap than the [cap][reg] one. Maybe the item you're selling isn't that popular.
Here's the list of what I've sold, just since last night when I logged off:
You have sold an item in the Exchange to [redacted] for 30000.
1 Phaser Beam Array Mk VI
You have sold an item in the Exchange to [redacted] for 30000.

You have sold an item in the Exchange to [redacted] for 200000.
1 Phaser Turret Mk IV [CrtH]
You have sold an item in the Exchange to [redacted] for 190000.
1 Console - Engineering - EPS Flow Regulator Mk VI
You have sold an item in the Exchange to [redacted] for 40000.
1 Phaser Dual Cannons Mk VI [CrtD]
You have sold an item in the Exchange to [redacted] for 5000.
1 Tetryon Dual Heavy Cannons Mk VI
I absolutely love the exchange. I offer my things at very high prices and people buy them. I also buy things at somewhat high prices and resell them at extremely high prices. It is a great way to make some cash over the night while you sleep.
Remember: Prices seem high because there is only one form of currency. There are not Half Credits, Credits, and Super Credits. Instead of buying something for a dollar you are buying it for 100 cents.
Credits in this game are EASY to come by, so prices stay high as each individual credit is not worth very much by iteself. Only when you add a few zeroes to the end does the credit gain meaning. I was a business major, and this is basic. There is no reason any of you should get less than excellent marks in STO Economics...
Ha, the Exchange. What a joke. Why buy on the Exchange when I can just uses badges for what I want?
this is why, lol the exchange is a complete joke, credits are useless and anything worth having can either get as loot of from badges... seeing as the user base is all going to be ra5 soon enough exchange has no use anymore for anyone. just repilcate everything llike i do
Edit : o or use the exchange as extra bank space too
The reason I do not buy off the exchange is people have no clue how to price things. I see things I might use for a couple weeks (and I am super casual) then get rid of for 500,000 credits. I dont even have 500,000 and if I did I wouldnt blow it on some gear Ill use temp and then toss away. I think if people want to sell things they need to get realistic about pricing.
I have bought a few consoles, a couple of tribbles, and some BOs that were reasonably priced. I won't buy for the outrageous prices that most want to sell for. Prices are on average 10 to 100 times overpriced. Perhaps the market will correct itself and prices will come down due to most people refusing to buy.
Until they install some sort of cost search functionality into the exchange, expect to be disappointed with selling and purchasing items on the exchange.
With no way to search other than by already knowing the exact name of the item you want, your item was buried under overpriced trash and no one can find it.
Yeah, I'm super disappointed. I only made 495k last night!
Cool, what was it? One MK IV eps console
sorry, some of the prices seem so idiotic, I understand the law of supply and demand, but some of the prices on the commander level stuff are completely out of whack for what someone at that level can afford (unless they are being twinked by hi lvl toons).

Interesting... as soon as the update hit I put up like 5 items and they sold within minutes. The item might not be in demand now.

Good luck to you on your sales...

This is sorta related, and sorta not... I have seen people sell things for stupidly high prices. For example, i saw a shield array standard-issue for sale for $999,999,999. I think there should be a limit to around $2,000 over the item's marked price, I don't think anyone would be stupid enough to buy it but its the idea of people doing this that annoys me
I have too much stuff in Storage and my Inventory, and the Exchange is not helping me get rid of any of it. I can only successfully sell energy & shield buffs for cheap.
I sell all my items at a price that ends in "13". For example, a gun or shield valued by the game at 108 credits will sell for 113 credits or a shield valued at 1075 credits may sell for 2013 credits. For the most part my mark-ups are not that high and for anything under $25 or $50, I just mark it down to $13 credits.
Am I being too picky and should I just start spacing these items, or sending them to the trash?! I am avoiding some missions and areas, since my inventory is always near full and I don't wish to leave loot behind.
I wish I could sell these things back to Starfleet for a better dea, or have more options of crafting them on Memory Alpha so they would not just go to waste. Really wish this game had the Guild Wars crafting and storage options as I hardly run out of space with their Xunlai storage option that allows you to share content across all characters on your account in an area with access to this storage box, along with an option to dis-mantle items into their component materials so we can then keep the materials in a separate Materials Storage inventory slot.
Badges cant buy me shiny new MkX Phaser Dual Heavy Cannons. Can they? nope. Somethings you still have to rely on the exchange for. Even if the prices are up in the millions.

Even the blue Mk X weapons I get for coming top of fleet actions don't sell.
