I think you need to tweek Escorts down a notch, Cryptic.
If its not for Reverse Shield Polarity, us Cruiser Captains wouldn't stand a chance.
I think it's more than that, a lot of changes were negative to cruisers. Like you say, RSP can keep you alive, but cruiser damage is down with the EPS nerf, cruisers still can commit suicide quickly against a FBP configured ship, if we mount cannons and turrets our damage drops because of DPS and maneuverability issues, so basically what we have left is lots of hull health. That is not enough to have fun with.
i think the last patch was a step into a wrong direction.
Wihle 2 of the 2,5 "I can win whatever you do" Problems still exist they beef up dmg vs hull.
the last 2h pvp showed me one thing ... hull = paper.
ant that hurts the cruiser class most. only chance to survive longer than 5 seconds is using RSP ... not even science team giving 43% shild resistance helps anymore vs attack pattern Beta II/III + attackpattern alpha III and overload beam II
i for example devasteded one poor fleet escort before he even was completly out of full impulse:
3 front phaser array mk X knocking out his front shield a crit hit wirh beam overload II for 27k !!!!! got him to 2% hull and my other 2 back phaser array Mk X gave him the rest .. the torpedo didnt even reach him ...
and i do about 180 -190 dmg to shield per phaser per phase and about 1500 to 1900 cit 3200 to hull ...
I think there should be a place for shild tanks and for hull tanks ... second isnt there anymore
i replaced my hazard systems I with jam sensors I so i have 2 jam sensors (every 30 secs) because of the usles hull resistance
IMO cruisers could use an innate EPS like effect or something that makes cruisers use EPS consoles more effectively. Like in my escort my EPS console now gives 1.3 that same console in a cruiser would be 1.7 or 2.0 whatever would be fine with me.
Been saying it for a long while now, but I think ALL ships need some buffs across the boards as far as hulls go.
