There is a ton of negativity on these boards. So much so that I imagine I will get flamed for saying something nice. Truth is... I am having a lot of fun playing this game - the new updates were as promised and with no major glitches. Thanks! Can't wait for the next update.

Great job cryptic, I not only have a lifetime sub but because I'm not paying monthy and you added toys to the c store.... sigh I splurged and bought your tasty treats.
Agreed. Although there is a tonne of negativity on the board, I think it's no worse than most. I actually think there are an unusually high number of enthusiastic fans on the board, because enough people really like Star Trek and because they like game and what's been done with the IP (and how it spans various elements of Trek cannon).
As I've seen people from Cryptic write, it's more a game for Star Trek fans than traditional MMO fans. It focuses more on creating a solid "Star Trek" themed MMO experience (from TOS to the reboot) than the traditional MMO levelling & raiding focused experience (bluntly, there probably isn't enough high end content to keep them occupied once they cap out).
I absolutely understand why the game doesn't float some people's boats, but personally (as someone who games a lot, but casually across a range of titles) I really like it and given the rapid progress so far (both in the last 2 years and in the last 2 months) I am excited about the future of the game.
Couldn't agree more. It hasn't been a smooth ride by any means, but what launch is? I think the foundation for a lasting experience is there, now the content just has to be as well. Keep up the good work!
I love the new running light animations on the ships.
And I must have wasted an hour last night just flying through empty space and watching my Sovereign slide around with the increased inertia. I'm not sure if that's something they enabled with this patch or not, but the increased inertial movement is a lot of fun, and I'm already noticing that movement tactics in battle have to be altered slightly to keep you from sliding into other ships.
All of these small changes really make a difference. The fact that I don't beam down to Spacedock (or even peaceful missions) armed with guns at the ready. It's a standard away team beam-down. The way the away team follows my lead on holstering or unholstering... fantastic. And at the end of a mission, when you select beam-out, you get the little combadge tap and the team stays standing as they beam out, rather than crouching back down in combat mode.
I really love that stuff.
Haven't had a chance to try the new fleet actions and such but I'm looking forward to trying a few of those out tonight.
You've done some great stuff here, Cryptic. Another one in the can. Stop and take a deep breath and take great delight in marking that milestone.

I really like the new ship and bridge.

I've been impressed with what Cryptic has done with the ST IP since Mid December and they just keep rolling out the good-stuff
Im still a bit anrgy about the Pakleds and Rigelians and the miscommunication about the Ship Variants.
Guess its better to do both good and bad instead of just doing bad though.
