I've been PVPing all day since the patch and was curious what everyone thinks.

My conclusion is that Klingon is sucking pretty bad though I'm not entirely sure why.

I assume this thread will degenerate quickly into a flame-fest...but I'll go ahead and decloak first on this one and take the heat.

All I know is that the groups I've fought with yesterday generally won without losing anyone...and now we generally lose, sometimes badly.

I like the idea of the shanty town PvP as an objetive based PvP but it needs some work such as maing the aim's clearer and points towards open PvP planet where we dont just have to kill the other team 12 times each.

Im guessiing from this either you and your group are very very good or prior to the patch it was far too easy for the klingons .

Im thinking maybe its been over nerfed but it will need an adjustment period when the klingons will have to look at the tactics they are using and see if thats at fault , with the new changes things may be adjusted as the classic " decloack and kill one ship before your opponents have time to respond then use superior numbers to win the rest of the fight might not cut it anymore . "

My concern at the moment is with the introduction of FvF, seeing how much PvP will be for the Klingons. This weekend will be a good indicator to see how much it impacts the KDF.

It didn't seem to last night, if anything it allowed me on my fed to get into fights alot faster then normal.

klinks still have house battles so I am sure if you want pvp it will still be there for you , and seeing as you where waiting on 100 to 1 qs as a fed before i am sure some of those guys will still want to come and gank the 2nurfed" klinks

I saw no lack of FvK last night. I loved the new shanty town map, even though I still have no idea what the objectives are with the virus upload.

At admiral level there is no one in the KvK maps at all. (at least not when I was online last night). Unless we acted as a group and all queued for KvK it just isn't an option for us.

The reason why you're doing poorly, OP, is because the majority of fed players who QQ about fighting Klingons are the same ones who just aren't as good. They have all moved to FvF. Now the feds left in the FvK queues are the ones who have already taken up the challenge to learn to PvP properly. In other words the overall quality of Fed players in the FvK queues has increased.

This is a good thing :)

Well from my expierence last night minus the bugs (ie broken maps). I thought the changes were quite benificial. Maybe it is me, however with the power changes and slight boost of hull and shields for the BoP I noticed my survivablity was enjoyably increased. I can hear alot of whining coming because of it. Maybe I also lucked up and got on a really good PUG, but of the several Cracked Planetoid's I was in, it was a slaughter.

Our ancestors rejoyiced last evening. Cheering as the flow of blood made its way to the very steps of Sto'vakor themselves.

Sadly you are right. I only que'd up for cracked and the feds were playing like TRIBBLE with the exception of one good pug I was in that won a shutout. Having said that I didn't see anything to out of line damage wise with any of the ships except for the sci skills which are still stupid.

When will people realize that zipping around the map solo as a fed is a death sentence......lol

I won't scream overnerf yet. Many of us Raptor and BoP pilots especially will have to start better managing our power and not just spam the spacebar like before. Also, with many Fed ships sporting cannons now, we have to get used to the DPS tables turned against us.

However, my win-loss ratio playing Klingon post-patch seems 50-50, which is always a good thing. I'll give it more time.

Thank you for the great replies. I must admit, I clicked on this post with dread this morning, expecting nothing but 'L2P' flames from all sides.

The comment about Fed hardcore PVPers sticking around for FvK especially made sense to me from what I was seeing. There were some great Fed teams doing everything right.

Another thing I didn't consider: On the Klingon side, we haven't had a good mix of BOPs, raptors and cruisers in the FvK I've been fighting. Depending on the effect of the patch on the various ship classes, it could be a better mix of ships on our side would resolve what I was experiencing.
