I originally downloaded the Star Trek Online Client through Steam because that's where I purchased my codes from. I got sick of Steam loading up every single time I loaded up STO, so I uninstalled the Steam version of the STO client through the Steam interface. Then I re-downloaded the STO client from the link on the main web site here. I waited for the client to update, and it's able to get through the launcher just fine, but now it crashes whenever I try to load the game up itself because it says it can't decompress certain files or something, and that verifying all the files might help. Verifying all the files did not help and it still crashes.
Usualy this is caused by directory/file permissions problems. Where did you install the game?
If using Win7/or Vista try setting the launcher and gamecleint exe to run as admin or if you decied to do a reinstall set the instaler to run as admin.
if you get an error code on the crash post the code.
