Well thats annoying

Here in Australia most internet plans have a download limit. My own is 12 gig, which usually just makes it. Downloading the 2 gig patch "twice" means my line is going to be choked for the rest of the month. Thats annoying.

Yeah, yeah I know. Tough ****ies.

I can solve your problem with three words - Move To America.

Unlimited (or nearly so) internet just about anywhere and M-rated games.

You didn't download 2 gigs. The files, once uncompressed and patched totaled 2 gigs

I'd rather have free speech than free health care.

Are you arguing that countries that have health care for all (which includes pretty much every industrialized nation except for ours) does not have free speech?

Or are you simply spouting random gibberish?

No, I'm commenting on the fact that Australia has legal censorship by not allowing any game marketed for anyone older than the age of 15 to be sold, therefore does not have free speech.

Someone commented on health care as a tongue-in-cheek reference to America not necessarily being a great alternative to Australia. I commented on rather having free speech than health care.

No politics, you'll get the thread locked faster than my car doors in [unpleasant area of town]!

Trubble: does your ISP have ANY option for temporary upgrading, perhaps for a reasonable charge?

Yeah, the launcher was mistakenly deleting all those pre-patch files we all downloaded for the first few hours, until they got it fixed.

It shouldn't happen next time, but I can understand your frustration.

    Does it impact your gameplay?

Yeah, it'll impact his gameplay, if they decide to shut off the connection. If he's passed his limit, the best he can hope that they charge him exorbitant fees for overages.

Yeah it affects gameplay. Hell it took half an hour to get this page up. I can upgrade for the rest of the month for $20. Its saturday today so they probably wouldnt take the choke of till Tuesday, yeah they are that slow.

The thing is, when your on the fence about staying and going, stuff like this tends to push you over. I think I'll cut my losses.

Free speech in America.....only if you agree with whoever has the guns. Free speech does not exist anywhere.

True, just ask George Takei where he spent his time from 1942-1946. in fact, call him, he'll be on the stern show all next week.

I agree; that is very annoying. You folks should demand better service from your ISPs.

Isn't there another website entirely to go to for political discussions? What does health care, free speech, and who has guns have to do with Star Trek Online?

Someone opened the door by suggesting players effected move to America where plans aren't rate limited, leading to above

    Not so fast!
Comcast has a policy of 250 gigs per month.
How do i know? cause they called me to tell me I had exceeded it.
And as for the move to America comment, don't it sucks here mostly.
We don't have free speech, or free anything.
Not that i mind it is better here than most places, but most people believe here what the t.v. tells them,
which screws up our government. (but not the only thing, hehe)

Actually if you want good internet, Singapore Korea and Japan seem to be the places to be. Their downstream rates kick the TRIBBLE out of most anything in the US.
