Ok, after the respec, I STILL have no reason to put points into my "Middle ship" skills (Ie, "Heavy Escort", "Exploration Cruiser", "Long Range Science Vessel" etc) because I hate to say it... 25% just isn't cutting it

. That's when I started thinking, why not make these more useful and "Good" by making them more "Generalized" Considering Ship Roles, I was thinking something like:
<Ship Type> Defensive Training - Provides a % bonus to hull and shield bonus to all ships of <Ship Type> Class
<Ship Type> Helmsman Training - Provides a % bonus to maneuverability and speed of all ships of <Ship Type> Class.
for the Tier 3 and 4 skills, with the Tier 5 skills remaining for the specialty class.
None of this 25% stuff, and the bonus could apply to EVERY ship of the line.
ie.
Heavy Escort Captain,
Tactical Escort Captain,
Heavy Cruiser Captain,
Exploration Cruiser Captain,
Research Science Vessel
and Long range Science Vessel skills
get replaced with
Cruiser Defensive Training
Cruiser Helmsman Training
Escort Defensive Training
Escort Helmsman Training
Science Vessel Defensive Training
and Science Vessel Helmsman Training
Thoughts? Civilized Disagreements?

Have the ship specific skills be cheap with only minor buffs and have the generalized skills be more expensive with beefier bonuses.
But indeed, I like.
I still see the "Helmsman" skills being 300 points / lvl (Tier 3) and "Defensive" skills being 400 points / lvl (Tier 4) for simplicity's sake and not having to reprogram too much of the tree.... but yea.
