i was reading the update and saw that this was now online for 400 points. If im right it said that you can start from scratch and retrain your captain. Does this mean that you lose all the skill points you have gain and start at zero or does it mean that you keep the points and can reassign them to different powers???

You lose nothing. It's simply a respec that's available through the c-store.

Before you buy one, visit the guy in center of earth dock. He'll give you the first one for free. Just incase.;)

You can also buy them in game after the free one. It costs 20k merits for an Admiral but a lot less at lower ranks.

You also get a 'free' Respec everytime you train up to a higher Tier Rank

That is correct. You keep all of the Skill Points you have earned and can reallocate them to any skills you want.

It means that every time you rank up you get a respec for free. If you rank up from Lieutenant to Lieutenant Commander then you get one chance to completely respec your skills for free. The same for all following ranks.

There is an NPC at the center of Earth Spacedock and one on K7. I am unsure if there is one on DS9.

The respec NPC on DS9 is in the exchange/bank area, off the promenade

The retrain NPC is always easy to find. He is the guy with a horde of players standing around him ... that and the Tailor for the new Off Duty clothes is popular too :)

Thanks you two, was hoping that with new skills coming it would have a free respec at the very least for each character.

Klingon side there's one in the south-west "Sparring Room" on Qo'nos.

Edit to add: Also a Respec trainer in the center room on Ganalda Station.

Doesn't the training officer charge you merits when you don't have a token? I would assume that's the case.. maybe someone can check as I still have a free respec token showing.

I'm asking about one purchased with merits not through the c-store.

If you dont have a free token the npc you visit to respec will charge you and it will show how much it will cost.

It's bought from the same respec officer. It'll just cost merits instead of using the free token.
