my god does this thing suck.
First part. do what cryptic does best. destroy waves of mindless enemies becuase we cant figure out how to do anything new.

second part. carry 1 generator at a time to protect things 20 times...dont forgot that we cant brain and forgot to realize these are the same players who dont work together in CE how ever did we think theyd stick together to get this part done...

most boring fleet action ever.

Get used to this kind of "new content". It seems to be all cryptic is capable of pushing out the door. Its totally unimaginative, lackluster, mind numbingly monotnous.... among other things... but I digress. My opinion of this game gets worse by the week.

Ive said in another thread, that I have hopes for season 2 patch. Ive heard its supposed to be content heavy. Not this fluff TRIBBLE we got in this patch. If not... well then I suppose ill just wait for Starcraft 2 and TOR to come out. At least I'll have given STO a fair try.

You've basically just described about every "raid" in every MMO I've ever played. They all become monotonous after a time. You shouldn't be surprised to find them in MMOs anymore.

I'm not defending anyone here, just saying it is sadly the norm for most all MMOs.

To be honest, I'm really surprised no gaming company has used or is trying to develop something like the Massive Software in developing a MMO. If you could use something like that to design enemies that would truly react to you and adapt to your tactics, that game would make a fortune. At least I think it would.

Yup. Exactly like every other MMO. WoW is just the same. It's to be expected. I hope that Cryptic at some point, will come up with a more creative solution. Fingers are crossed.

I can't speak for everyone, but my own personal experience is that they are all boring after the first or second attempt.

To be honest though, I've done "Breaking the Planet" a couple of times now and its still fun for me. Not sure why though.

See this brings up an interesting point though... do you think you are bored by MMOs in general because you have experience coming from other games?

Reason I ask is, most people I know here that STO is their first MMO they see things and are all "COOL!", whereas I've kind of seen it done before in other games.

This is bull I have played a few MMO's that have some nice scripted encounters. They do not require heavy waves of enemies for difficulty. Sure maby after the 20 th time they become boring but thats completely different from just zerg.

It's a matter of opinion I guess. Most all I've ever done are nothing more than go here and defeat X number of trash mobs until you get to Boss Y, then defeat it. No matter what they are or how scripted it is, they get old after the third or 50th time.

I guess....... I have played in raids in EQ2 that have took us a month or more to complete. Not because we couldnt handle waves of mindless mobs or we couldnt handle 8 bazillion hitpoints with lots of incomming damage but because the scripts were difficult until you got it down.

You are comparing a Fleet Action to a WoW Raid? That's like comparing Alterac Valley to Illidan.
