Played today and disappointed

I played the apparently NEW content and once again DISAPPOINTED...I dont understand why the DEVS put so much time on customizing options for the ships and uniforms and no work on the game content itself. I dont care if I run around in a pair of boxer shorts as long as I have a NEW mission to do to keep the game interesting. I have played every mission possible and am a RA5...I logged in today and there once again was nothing NEW to do. If I have to look at another cluster or wait inline for another PVP just to earn 5 Mark of Honor points (which half the time I dont get)...I will kill myself. No new ships for Feds and the K's got a new ship but they still do not have any new content to use it. I am totally confused and sad to say that STO is to become a FASHION SHOW and not a MMO.

    A couple of things...

    1. While not important to you, character customization is very important to others. Please try to keep that in mind.
    2. Adding new costumes/playable races is content. It may not be sufficient for some, but it is content.
    3. I hear you on the lack of endgame content. All I can say is most all MMOs are light on endgame in the early stages. These kinds of things are added later on.
    4. I could be wrong, but from the sound of it, even if new mission content is added, you'll just blow through it as fast as possible and then be bored again. You might want to consider offering suggestions as to what would keep you interested and what kind of missions you want to see, other than "I'm at RA 5 and I'm bored with nothing to do".

Remember that different people work on different parts of the game. Should the costume designer stop doing what they do so well and work on something completely different (like loot tables, level design, fleet actions, etc)?

At your job, when a customer wants something, does EVERYONE in the company drop what they are doing and fix it?

    I didn't think so.

or...... the game could have enough content to be called a recurring subscription based MMO without the players having to do the work.

Cryptic games so far seem to be high on the fluff, and average to below average on gameplay content.

Im still holding out hope though for the season 2 patch. I hear its supposed to be content heavy. If not... then ill probably just stop playing STO altogether and wait for TOR and Starcraft 2 to come out.

    Its fluff content.

I play very casually and have not hit lvl 37 yet, but changing uniforms, and getting new races is meaningless in the big picture to keep people playing the game.

Regardless of what means what to whom, the fact that people will leave when they hit max level is what the devs should be most concerned about, tweak the cosmetics later.

This is not like WoW or EQ2 or other larger MMOG with many classes and places to explore that you may have missed the first time around...once you do it, the game is done.

THAT is what they should be focusing on.

Not belittling anyone's opinions on what they find important but the fact is if the devs cannot keep people in the game playing...the rest is fluff.

I want to live Star Trek in an MMO not play Star Trek.

Meaning, a MMO is suppose to be so full of content that you just about live on the game and they start making commercials about how spending to much time on a game is bad and for us to go outside and throw a ball or run around or something. NOW it seems STO is my reason to go outside and throw a ball or run around cause that seems more entertaining than scan and shoot the B'tran cluster daily or spend 3 or 4 hours trying to beat INFECTED which needs 7 of 9 from Voyager to accomplish even though I have heard of some finishing it, which baffles me how the did so.

But I agree, we waited this long for new content, new content we have to pay extra for if we want to use majority of it, and I dont see what they spent all this time on. Some of the stuff the added or say they will add should have been in the release or launch not the 45 day update. Some say WoW had problems but WoW also had so much more content at launch than STOhNo does now.

Where is the Holodeck? Where is the social activities, like dabo(heard they MIGHT add this), danjat, kal toe, 3d chess? What is the point of going to Risa, Vulcan, and Andoria? To show off our weird off duty uniforms or fancy uniforms? Where is the diplomacy that made Star Trek, TREK? I enter system and kill everything, no options to hail enemy vessel and ask for their surrender? Where is STAR TREK? I see a space game, but where is the MMO that is suppose to be STAR TREK? Somebody tell me why I am paying 14.99 a month for this?

I digress but it does not change the concern or questions some if not all of us have.

Having read through the entire Release Notes thread I will concede that it is light on end game content, but VERY heavy on much needed fixes, changes, and variety. It's not going to be enough for some who are already on the fence, but for those of us who are here to stay it is most welcome. My hopes are high for Season Two and all of the patches between now and then.

Good points to the above posters...didnt they say they was going to open the entire solar system of Sol? Where is that? What about naming our own planets, I know I saw that before as well? Where is the meat and potatoes of this game?
