Beams and Patch

Am I imagining things or did the beam graphics get narrower with the patch? I always thought they were too narrow to begin with and now they seem even less so - or maybe some of my settings just got messed up with the patch.

Another thing is that I wonder if they changed something else besides beam power consumption because it just took me way over five minutes to destroy a single romulan D'deridex Battleship with my Reconnaissance Science Vesel mounting two dual beam arrays and chroniton torpedo launcher. I kept using photonic officer, beam overload and torpedo: high yield when they were available. Additionally I kept using emergency power to shields, science team, reverse shield polarity, and hazard emitters in a similar manner and barely made it out alive. I mean it already took long enough to take down most ships (almost a minute) before patch, and yes, I keep full weapon power.

Granted I haven't respecced yet so that might be a huge thing with the new skills probably having significant influence on things (I hope).
