I've had good luck with the new patch, and have to give kudos to Cryptic. The improvements in the UI are nice, the ships actually having visible weapons where the fire comes from are very nice touches. I haven't had stability problems at all.
So, just a thanks to the devs and GMs for keeping on keeping on. I think its looking pretty good for the long haul.
The Respec was definitely worth it imo. I think some of my abilities are improved based on what I chose for skills.
And I like the touch ups to the ship designs. As well as the new Off-Duty outfits. I remade the one I made on Tribble XD.
While this was a lot of "light content" with a new raidisode, and new stuff for the Klingon Empire, I have to say I'm happy with this release. I'm sure Cryptic will be giving us more goodies in the future, and will give us some "heavier content" at some point. Thanks Cryptic!
Guys....The Emperor doesn't have any clothes on. There I said it. After all this time...You call this a "good" patch?
I guess if you expect a storm a little rain seems like a blessing...
There is nothing in this patch to make game play any more engaging or fun. Nothing to fill the void at RA-5 that less than a week of playing will take care of...
This game, even after the patch is still in a pre-release condition.
The only change Ive noticed is that my Bird of Prey has massive power drains to its weapons system when I fire, which makes combat kind of suck.
Other than that? Havent seen much. So to me its too early to tell whether I like it or not. But the new power drain nerf sucks. A lot.
Actully that is a good thing. Means they finally fixed the power issue. Can't wait to get onto my BOP tonight. I hope they fixed this agross the board. I'll have to check my Fed characters too.

Opinion noted.
Mine agrees with the "Good patch" feeling. I had to drag myself away from Tribble when I realized I'd just have to redo it all on Holodeck.
Actully that is a good thing. Means they finally ficked the power issue. Can't wait to get onto my BOP tonight. I hope they fixed this agross the board. I'll have to check my Fed characters too.
Do what? They just doubled the power drain. Im not sure why that makes you excited. It just means your BOP will do less damage now.
Fleet actions level gated? Sweet! Admiral level starbase 24 or gorn advance? Not to mention the finally implemented DS9 fleet action? Sweet!
The cure? Sure, I'll try it out
Ship variants? I'll have to see them before I make a call on those
Don't know about the rest, but I loved the fleet actions and can't wait to finally do them again as an admiral, without griefing lieutenants or other ranks.
Gotta hand it to the Don Quixotes in the community coming into a positive constructive topic and attempting to slay the windmill dragon that is Cryptic. ;(
I am looking forward to exploring as much of the changes, fixes, additions and such that I can this evening, once I get home from work.

It's called learning new strategies and battle tactics. It's meant to make the game more challenging, since people were complaining it was too easy. Now people are complaining it's too hard.

What happened to Freedom of Speech
So there are a couple of more fleet actions that I can do over and over and over and over and over agian. Respecs NO I made my choices and I am proud to stick with them not cry like a baby and start all over again. Playable races in C-shop Thanks but I bought this to play a Federation Character and only the I first started. Off duty uniforms Oh Whoopee.
New PVE storyline Missions for RA5 None.
New Exploration with Diplomacy or variety None.
New Subscription None.
But I'm still going to wait a while before playing again. And yes, I do have the lifetime subscription. There is still not much post RA5 content to devote hours of time to play. Sure, I can do the two fleet actions and if successful get a decent reward or if not, get some experience on how to do better next time. That said, I don't want to play a game where I'm doing the same quest over and over again just to get badges to save up for rewards that aren't that much better than what I got as drops.
No, I didn't rush to max level. I took my sweet time. I'm just hoping for some more non-raid stuff to do (without rerolling or changing sides).
So, keep on chugging on Cryptic. I'm sticking with you, I believe in you, and I know it takes time to get content out. When you get to that point, I'll start spending more time with you. Until then, I'm off to play some relic of a game I found at half price books called Titan Quest.

New PVE storyline Missions for RA5 None.==========The Cure
New Exploration with Diplomacy or variety None.=====Klingons get totally new exploration, any diplomacy system that they could come up with in 50 days would be TRIBBLE so I'm not complaining.
New Subscription None.
Also for RA5 having the fleet actions level banded and adding new ones means that the "over and over again" will be limited to doing
The Big Dig
Crystaline entity
Starbase 24
DS9 attack
Breaking the planet
slowing expiditionary force
Halting the Gorn advance
and probably another few that I'm missing, so yes this patch is fluff heavy but I'm still waiting for july to see their diplomacy system and the supposed content heavy Season 2.
New PVE storyline Missions for RA5 None.
New Exploration with Diplomacy or variety None.
New Subscription None.
These things ARE COMING. They weren't slated for release with this content update. You know, it really pays to read the stuff that Cryptic posts on its main STO page, and on the forums.
If you want to be impatient and cancel your subscription, that's your right to be impulsive like that. But don't say it's because Cryptic didn't release the new Exploration or Diplomacy stuff with Season 1 yet. That may come with Season 2, which might get released in the next month or 2.
Bottom line: Read Cryptic's posts before complaining please.

This post and a few others that are similar are perfect examples of the kinds of players I would hope not to find on STO. These are gamers. Gamers are generally raiders and min/maxers. They care nothing for the flavor of the game only what missions they can do and what is the best gear they can have. I have seen all too many of these types in so many other MMO's. I had high hopes that they would not show up on STO but I knew it was inevitable.
Maybe try learning to Role Play. What do you think the RPG at the end of MMO means? If you want to play a game go out and buy a console system.
Personally I love the fact that Cryptic is trying to cater to the fans and to the RPers unlike so many other MMOs out there. Way to go Cryptic! Keep it up!

Not Impatient and I have read all the engineering reports etc, But I see no reason to keep on paying when I can leave for 5 months pay for 1 complete everything new they have released in a month take another 5 months off then pay for amonth again.

Oh wow so I can do old fleet actions that I have already done over and over and over again again. and again and again. Level banded does not make them new just easier. Did breaking the planet on my own as RA5 last night stopped in the end because I was falling asleep
Tzimisce
Please go read the site. This is an MMO not an MMORPG.
Duh this is a game and you know what gamers play games, if there were no gamers there would be no game. No I am not a raider and I dragged it out asl long as I could reading every bit of text in every mission doing multiple explore and defend sectors missions doing multiple fleet actions and still got maxed in 72 hrs.
Cryptic themselves said there was aprrox 80hrs of content at release.
I actually probably try to follow the Star Trek flavour more than you. I try to sneak around and do the scans or repair the satellites without getting into a fight not going blasting first.
It seems the polygon count on my Cheyenne class went up, Klingon content was added and I like it, they got rid of the 'transfer to next map?' when changing zones. All in all I give it an A+.

On a forum your at the mercy of the public forum council. Just about anything goes.
And freedom of speech goes out the window since Cryptic owns the forum they dictate the rules.
Trust me at some point there are some of us who have gotten a taste of what you do and don't do around here.

some bug fixes and respecs... yes, but a 'good patch' cause they finally got around to fixing things?
Other than that? Havent seen much. So to me its too early to tell whether I like it or not. But the new power drain nerf sucks. A lot.

the angry ragers pretty much buzz killed the experience....
saw the new respec stuff....then decided meh...... and logged off.
spring festival on lotro is more intersting imo.... STO has lost its intrigue.
maybe I'll feel like playing next week sometime.

uh.. yes. thats kinda what patches are for. That's the reason for their existence.
no, season 1 was billed as the '45-day savior' of star trek online... not a semi-bug fix (oops added a ton of new bugs) and c-store bridges galore...
I am looking forward to exploring as much of the changes, fixes, additions and such that I can this evening, once I get home from work.
I'm just glad I'm not working at Cryptic.
That's a good thing. Means Klingons and Feds can't camp respawns and kill people as they respawn. Means they actually have to do battle.
