Ship variants and Bridges

So there is the Bridge Pack I and Bridge Pack II.

II is for Light cruisers and I is for star cruisers. So you HAVE to have those two ships to use them? I can't use the new bridges on say my Recon Science Ship?

PLEASE BE MORE SPECIFIC IN YOUR DESCRIPTIONS OF C-STORE ITEMS!

If so, that is really freaking lame.

Also, as for "Playing on old favorites" via the Ship Skins, the only one we have is the assault cruiser one.

So basically we have got (To my knowledge) New bridges for Star Cruisers, and a new Ship Skin for Assault Cruisers.

Cryptic, GJ failing.

I was looking forward to a new ship skin for Recon Science Ships, but obviously you FLUFFED us again by making it out like there would be more than ONE FREAKING SKIN.

If I'm wrong on this, by all means correct me, if I am not then...fail.

I have to agree, this is just a major fail... and I've always been a defender of Cryptic and STO.

Hopefully they'll prove us both wrong and we'll see more added to the C-Store today.

There's a dev post on the first page stating that not all of the c-store items were put in, and they should be there by the end of the day.

Yea, when SYliam is shaming you, you know you screwed up.

Cryptic, you better get on the ball. There had BETTER be more skins than that one.

    Really? I can't find that...

I'm just waiting to see if there WILL be more ships added, so I can decide if I want to stick with Star Cruisers or go back to Assault, THEN I can spec my RA5 character to match the ship.

    Precisely! I'm important, god dammit!

but but but why is anyone surprised that they would release anything half-cocked and shooting from the hip?

    Mirror universe item 'sets'
    cloths sets not working correctly
    exclusive items
    missing content
    Champions Online
    Star Trek Online
    game Sales
    No game sales
    Free play time
    No free play time
    Taking player races out
    Adding them in for money
    No respecs
    respecs for money
    yadda yadda

When a company does not think things through since they opened for business, why is it a surprise that they again, don't do it? Are people just that daft to think things will change? Or just naive?

Those have been there. Basically 2 new bridges for feds, and still no extra ship skins.

The only ship skin listed so far is for assault cruisers.

I hope they have more before the end of the day.

Bridges have two uses in-game right now ...

1- A nice place to invite friends to hang out for a bit when you're on the opposite ends of the map.

2- Enemy Signal Contacts can't suck you in to their incessant battles while you are on the bridge. So if you have to AFK for a few minutes and you're out in the sector map and don't want to get AFK-Killed by the Enemy Signal Contact, pop into your bridge and take a moment for yourself.

Oh so that ONE item counts as new bridge(S)?

And it looks like the futuristic bridge, just a little bigger. Still am not going to give them any more of my money, until they quit this fluff advertising.

There's four of them with the purchase. It doesn't look like a futuristic bridge at all. The consoles are placed differently, the design and look of the consoles is different. It's a different bridge. It's still a starfleet bridge, but it's a different bridge. And you get four color schemes to choose from.

Considering the cheap price of the item, it justifies itself if you want it. If you don't want it, fine. Just you know, chill out. It is a new design, not a re-skin.
I dont want bridges, I want a new ship skin.

Those are still unavailable and bugged. I'm sure they're working on fixing that. I myself want a Pakled playable race to buy. And can't buy it yet.

And I want my borg tribble. But can't get it yet.

    :(

So far, they have made a lot of boo boos. If all they are having is server troubles and cant get all the new cstore stuff up, I can understand that. But if this is all there is, they just made more mistakes.

Their repuation is falling (Thats if this is all there is).

Take a good long look at other games with dominant modding communitys. People make models/textures new coding all of that TRIBBLE in days, not weeks/months and they ALLWAYS deliver on time.

Developers could learn from freelance modders.

The new bridges look pretty good and they look to be a little more reasonably sized compared to the bridges that came with the game. I think the Star Cruiser bridge viewscreen is a little small, but other than that it looks pretty good.

Proof that you have spent a staggering amount of three days on a prominent mod forum and decided that all third party developers was like this.

Seriously, you are just talking out of your TRIBBLE on this one.

Seeing as it isn't a real word (isn't the dictionary) arguing about spelling is pointless.

But show me a game where modders, put out a schedule and then adhered to it...

I have been a modder for many games for a very long time. Total War series is one, you can check their forums for proof if you like.

Everytime DARTH maker of the Darthmod for the Total War series has stated he was releasing a new version, he did so. To my knowledge he has never missed a release date.

As someone who was a modder once on communities for two different games I can tell you with 100% certainty that the only release of content that I *ever* saw 'on time' was when it was the release of an unannounced surprise.

(Other communities may work differently with regards to schedules, I wouldn't know...)

Freelance modders can be an absolute pain for deadlines....
I used to be such a horrible procrastinator that I gave up on schedules and only did work with the stipulation 'no release dates.' :D

Now I do mainly machinima so I more or less work by my own clock with regards to mods.

Maybe there are modding groups out there that do things like clockwork, but I seriously doubt its the norm by a long shot.
