I don't suppose it's possible to retrain into a different class, like tactical into science, is it?

What are talking about, Blizzard charges real money for reskilling on their website, unless I'm mistaken.

they charge for faction changes and race changes. re-specs are done in game with gold. They even let you pay 1000g and swap between 2 saved specs unlimited. Would be nice to do that here, for changing from cruiser or escort. Should use merits instead of c-store

Everyone gets one free respec as soon as they log in. Go to Earth Spacedock and talk to the guy in the center of the station. You can identify him by the crowd of people hanging around him.

You also get a respec each time you rank up. If that's not enough, you can buy a respec with either in-game merits or from the C-Store.

they just charge in game currency. First one is free then goes in 5 or 10 gold increments with 50 gold max. 50 gold is relatively small.

I'm going to be avoiding that hub for a week or so . . . .

The in-game options are more than adequate. Use your CP for something far more frivolous and kitschy. :D

Wow, all these threads are soooo funny....

    First is free....

You get one every time you rank up...

20K merits after that or around 5 bucks.

No that friggin hard to do a little reading before you start crying. I assume they do still teach reading in schools these days.

If you STILL have a problem with 5 bucks or 20K merits, then let me make a suggestion.

    1. Stop respecing into the "Flavor of the Month"

    2. Stop by your local McDonalds, I'm sure they have a couple of grease traps you can clean for them.

I find it to be a little cheap myself. I mean at 20k honor/merits for an ingame repec 5 bucks is cheap in comparison.

I don't know ... All my characters are swiming in merits. For my first RA5, I have enough to buy 3 more respecs at 20k a pop :)

And if you plan your character ahead, you don't have to respec.

I took the time to read the Skill descriptions before I pumped points into each box.
Today I found that I didn't actually need even the Free Respec.
Had some leftover points to put into the new skills and that was it.

not for respecs, those are attainable easy in the game.

Not sure what game you were playing then.

    I respeced today, it was free. (I'm a RA5)

I opened the window again to see the merit cost, and it was still listing as "free."

Either I get all of my free respecs (4 or 5 of them), or maybe I had to put some points in to see the cost.

But it doesn't matter, because it costs Starfleet Merits to respec, and they're practically handing them out for free.

A free respeck after each promotion is more than reasonable. Consequently a repseck in the store is should not be an issue for anyone to be frank.
