Ive been at the download for about an hour..at 78%..I have one of the fastest Internet providers and it still slow..BIGGGGGG download...eek..had to shut down all PC's in house and background programs and still running slow..I hope its worth it?
So I take it no patch download link or torrent? It would have taken me less time to download the complete client as it seems to install a bit of patch every 500kb or so.

no but you can read the patch "manifesto" while you wait.
The launcher is mistakenly deleteing the pre-patch files that many of us downloaded. It's a mistake, they didn't intend it, hopefully it'll go better next time.
There is no alternative but to just let it download.
I remoted into my home system from work when I read the server were back up and the patch seemed to take no more than 15 minutes. What is the definition of "I have one of the fastest Internet providers" ?

No TRIBBLE. Whether the "provider" is fast has no bearing whatsoever. It's your connection that you pay for that matters somewhat. I have a 5 meg DSL connection, and I was good to go in three minutes.
what boggles my mind is reading the patch notes, then looking at the size of the patch, lol.
hey, let's be fair... the 2-3 new off duty uniforms and hairstyles and the picture of your ship after hitting 'u' probably takes up at least 1.6g of that...the rest is really cool bug fixes and c-store skins.

Also, turning off all taps in the house can't hurt either.

Bad news for those who've already tried it, but a bonus for those of us who have to wait until the end of the work day to play.
