It would be cool if....

...if there were sector blocks that unlocked at say Captain rank which were free fire, enter at your own risk, pvp zones that factions could gain controll of when enough battles were won by them. There should be "native" planets and bases in these system at which one can buy and sell various items...commodites, weapons and such. Perhaps some sort of allied or conqured status must be in effect for players to be able to trade with the natives.

...if there were cargo holds on ships and a commerce system for transporting things like weapons or comodities. If you get blown up your cargo spills into space where it can be beamed in by players. Loot items aquired in the free fire pvp systems from conquering "native alien species" could only be kept in in cargo holds untill equiped or sold which would solve the death penalty issue. You die, you lose valuable items in cargo hold.

Starbases: destructable, but VERY DIFICULT to destroy(let's say requiring the efforts of a least one full group of players if not two even) and VERY EXPENSIVE to purchase that could only be placed in systems where a faction has gained enough combat victories to control a particular sector. These bases should add to a systems "defense value" and must be destroyed in order to gain control of the system.

These sorts of things would go a long way toward encouraging the formation and development of player fleets. Having territory that is actually able to be taken and controlled would lend a real sense of "purpose" to doing all the grinding up missions and random pvp group battles that are currently in place.

Since one of the basic premises of this game is that the Klingons and federation are at war, there should be tangible things to gain and lose in the conduct of that war. This game has great potential and cryptic is doin a great job at working on putting more content in it, but many players I've talked to agree that they were expecting to have more things, like these listed here, to do in the game.

Just Krog's 2 cents worth.

Die well!!!

I like it, and would like to add.

I'd like to see a sector with a handful of systems. FULL SYSTEMS, Each system would have multiple planets with moons, astroid belts, nebula, etc. And each planet would have captureable points both on the surface and in space which would then be controlled by either faction. Each side would have a permanent outpost in the system while all others are up for grabs.

As for action in these systems there are a few missions available. The capture points all need to be supplied from the permanent outposts, requiring escort missions for supplies. Supplies effect the amount of NPC re-enforcements at the remote locations. Cutoff an outpost and it becomes much easier to capture. On the flipside, once one side has dominated a system for a set period(hours, a day, whatever) additional ships arrive at the permanent base and can be requisitioned to follow players and aid in combat.

The outposts themselves could be controlled by fleets, allowing for a base to be established and defended. Benefits for controlling a station could include minor benifits in that sector, including NPC support, discounted items and extra rewards. These controlled bases would have 2 phases to capture, exterior space combat then once the defenses are down the invaders would have to beam aboard to transfer control to their faction.

As for the entire sector, there are always defending cargo convoys which are like player controlled DSEs that effect the supplies coming into the permanent bases in each individual system.

Some open and free pvp area would be great.

Also a duel option for in space, I would really like this as it gives you a chance to fight people one on one to test your skills.

In pvp I get some one vs one fights and some are really *****ng your skills to the edge and diliver the most fun for me at least. and generaly also for my oponent, I mean there is not much better than winning a fight that lasted for 2 minutes and leaving with like 20% hull left or see the other do that.
