So last night I was playing some PvP matches on my Fed Science officer and after the match I caught hell from one person on each side....it was unbelievable. First a Starfleet Tac officer, who btw did lesss damage than any other fed, told me i need to learn to play b/c I was not healing and only did 78k in heals. I tried to explain to this person that I was a debuff ship, not a healer. I was staying in on the carriers hull and popping holds and debuffs to open him up to starfleet weaponry. The lone Engineer inthe group did over 200k in heals, as it should be b/c they are the real healers in STO. Then the carrier captain /tell me to say he is reporting me for exploiting VM. I was like  . He said that Sci team nor APO removed it. I am specced for it, I have 3 sensor probe consoles and my deflector supports it. What I tried to get across to him is that he likely did not notice that I hit him with 2 different levels of vm, sub nucleonic beam, 2 different levels of sensor jam, dampening field, charged particle burst, and sensor scan. Either that or he was mad b/c I kept him held and debuffed enough to get blown up several times over.:p
I guess my point is that before you start sending tells and mouthing off about someone's play style do some research or play that class to understand it better. And besides I don't know about you folks but I wouldn't know how to make the powers in the game behave any other way than the way they do.
Oh yeah I almost forgot as a science officer I can target subsystems and I use that to either disable weapons, knock engines and/or shields out etc....so there was likely some of that thrown in somewhere,
sorry to say you will hav to get used to it, i have been called a cheat because i used jam sensors and apparently was a <insert profanity string> for shooting while cloaked (in t5).
I have seen what i thought were good players, i like to focus on killing them as they can turn a map being rare. I noticed one that even tho he was listed as an engi (in an escort) and used rotate shield freq he also used tactical init almost every fight he had (i tracked him for a few fights stealthed once i noticed it on his buff list) which is a tac player skill on a 4 min cooldown, and always had an rsp handy. Only seen him once and he is the only one i have notice doing it.
I have seen players i have hit with a 25s sub pop rsp once i start to shoot. perhaps the sub immunity is due to somehow removing cooldowns, or perhaps it is just a glitch in game that means on those occasions it just never landed, not as if this game is not bug free. Sometimess for no reason my torps just stop firing, or all my skills go gray as if i am cloaked (but inc the normal ones that reamin active) that could be that i have been hit with a subnuc but the animation didn't activate or a bug or someone can do it to me, fact is i don't know.
However these people i could count on one hand even if i had a couple of missing fingers, the vast majority of cheat calling is from people not knowing what skills do what when you are on the recieving end as they only pve, and for example know JS stops the ship shooting at you but not how it works then it lands on you.
On the other side Klingons become so used to poor fed play that once someone comes along that is good they just can't handle that the truth is they are not as good as they have allowed themselves to believe they are and it hurts their little egos. I have had games where i look great, and a few where i have been so shut out and focused down by teams it can be difficult to make decent headway i am as good as i am, that's it, some sadly actually think they are legends and anything that dispells that illusion is cause for rage.
Players like you mentioned, that has that "know it all" attitude, and "wants you to play there way" or practically demanding it, usually end up on my awesome list of TRIBBLE. (in any case they are ignored w/ the gold sellers)
Unfortunately there is alot of players like that in all multiplayer games. It cannot be helped
Shield heal, debuffs and CC plays also an important part.
Also does toying with your enemies away from objectives. (When by yourself, you are dragging 2 or more ships away from objectives, your contributing in a huge part to Salvage Operations. It simply means enemies has less ship running objectives versus your allies.)
Yet, this kinda of efforts are never showing during the /pvpreport. That is life.
