Tool Tips for Infected?

There seem to be a a lot of people for whatever reason haveing a huge problem with this mission. Since it is the first in a string of missions that get progessivly harder building off the first one why not have ingame tutorial or tool tips explaing nodes, patrols, stratgies, just for this one so people will hopefully grasp what the mission is asking of them and will learn and adapt and hopefully go on to the other missions.

    It's not that Infected is hard.

    It's that the players do not have the tools to deal with it. The FIRST 3-person button in the game is after the first boss. We've only run into nodes in Borg ground plot missions before. This is ALSO the first mission with rooms that we cannot take on all at once. And the first mission with a jumping puzzle. And the first mission with a death-floor.

    Think about that for a minute. FOUR firsts in one mission. There was no preparation for this while we were leveling, the entire playerbase is used to ground combat that could be fought completely alt-tabbed by auto fire and bridge officers, and space combat that hinges on dying, respawning, and charging in blindly until the enemies are all dead.

    Simply, games are the designers training their players to play, and then introducing more difficult puzzles as players master each new twist.


    For contrast:
    Gordon Freeman gets a crowbar, then a pistol, then shotgun and automatic weapons and then a gravity gun, rocket launcher, bug bait, etc.

    They didn't just have him visit a nearby armory, grab the entire arsenal, and then hit the last level.

    Portal doesn't just throw you a fully functional portal gun, and expect you to instantly think of every possible way to use it.

    Nearly every GAME, let alone MMO, trains you up as you learn skills. Cryptic skipped that part.
