Seriously......when I was playing a lot a week or so ago this wasnt possible to my knowledge. Is this on Tribble atm or is it on the Holodeck too? How is it possible?
Not that I really am going to use it.......looks awful to me. Just saying.
because Pink is not Canon!
is that a photoshoped Wesley Crusher in your avatar?
also there is a skill that makes the ship glow ORANGE... just as wrong.
Spaceships dont glow all of a sudden... Ships dont have shiny rings arround them.
This Blizzard / Chineses blinky blink skill stuff is overrated... and 100% NOT Star Trek.
But.. this is a game. And having visual indication of skills being used is necessary in a game. We might as well remove all visual effects that aren't canon (such as the effects for Attack Patterns, Rapid Fire, High Yield, etc), so you will NEVER know what abilities your opponents are using. I suppose we could make Cryptic record tons more ship dialog and just have the ship's computer and our BOs tell us EVERYTHING that is going on, all the time!, but that would be plain annoying.
These sorts of things have existed since before Blizzard and Chinese MMOs used them.
Besides, you have no canon source for what the tactical display on a tactical station actually looks like, as I don't believe it's ever been directly shown in any Star Trek episode. For all we know, it could show the ship with little rings around it that represent the shields.

the ship is not pink it just looks pink becouse of the pink nebula's around it.
agree that it could be done better.
with bloom, it's *quite* flamboyant.
edit: fixed url.
^^^ What he said.
Nah at the ship customization console just set colors to pink, select material 1-3 and change paint style to orion, should come out just like that.
I did something similar for my Bird of Prey thats more pink than it needs to be, and my Klingon Fed ship with a blood red color.
100 points for you sir
Says the man with the Kirk avatar.

indeed how all the posters above you can get it so wrong just boggles the mind.
