I played the beta and a week into the release, and the thing i disliked the most was th eground combat just seemed like it was buggy, and just not very smooth. Have the fixed this yet?

Seemed the same to me 3 weeks ago. Haven't been on since. So not positive, but it is probably roughly the same. Your BO's still get stuck a lot.

If I'm not mistaken, there are some AI pathing fixes in testing on Tribble. I'd say ground feels a good bit smoother than it did at launch.

if any devs read this please for the love of god fix the bo's path finding or have them beam back to your location if they get too far out of range unless you told them to stand still

The ground PVP is my favorite aspect of the game.

You have to play smart and use teamwork.

You cant just equip awesome gear and pew pew

My problem is so many things are jarring... AI sends someone running through the middle of your team to shoot at you from behind... WTF?... Swordmaster runs up and stands eye ball to eye ball blasting away... Sheesh... Cover? Pah, cover is for wimps!

It just looks so, well, lame. We have so many great tactical games out there to compare this with and as a result STO away teams just looks so crude, particularly compared to the slick STO space combat system. Oh well.

I am not saying it cannot be fun, but it is more than a tad clunky.

If they would have made it FPS-style, it would have made a huge difference in gameplay. They could have just skinned the Quake engine and the game would be superb.

One person's superb is another person's awful. FPS-style ground combat would be horrible, as far as I'm concerned. I want that third person viewpoint so I can see my character and team in action. I have no interest in MMOs that use FPS combat.

I think FPS would not suit the RP setting of an MMO... Mass Effect style would have been perfect... highly tactical and all manner of abilities.

Mass Effect 1 & 2 would be great - but I'd consider those FPS styled games during ground combat with RPG elements determine the damage of alt weapons/powers.

Not really as the Mass Effect games are squad based, third person perceptive and more 'tactical' (i.e. you need to use cover and team member abilities).... whereas I think of FPS shooters as more twitch based run-and-gun style.... I think Mass Effect 2 style would have worked very well with STO. Oh well, maybe some future game.

I actualy "like" away missions, the fact that i spend 2/3 of my time getting some dimwitted BO to *walk around* a box or go thorugh a doorway is beyond fustrating

I am hopefull they will get it worked out.

I have been play another game Dragon Age, fun single player game. I like the idea of being able to "script" tactics of team memebers, I would like to sugest that Cryptic look ad doing something like that for BOs
