One that I liked was to own a planet in a solar system with other players and have to defended from other players and NPC’s & manages all the utilities, supplies and create a unions with other players in the solar system so we all can assist one the other for that purpose, and also we can attack any one transposing without authorization through the home world boundaries that extend as the world culture improves. Mainly a pet planet’s ;)

Good thought but with all the people that will want that, they would need a ton of server space.

No really you are not going to be able to hold a planet on your own the opposition will run you over, a fleet yes can be able to hold one.

My suggestion is an example of cooperation with a purpose pleases post yours to I be happy to see it. ;)

Well i like to rant on the game quite a lot, but i like the OP's initial Idea. So here comes my suggestion.

As everyone knows the concept of Money is kinda pointless in Star Trek,... the Gold pressed Latinum Stuff never really convinced me in a Universe where there a replicators.

So here is what needs to be done (theoretically speaking)

Players in accordance to there related class (tac/Science/Eng) can own places that give specific outputs.

A Science Officer can have a sciences outpost in a system for example that produces "Science Points.

A Tac Officer produces "Tac Points" for solving combat related stuff,... or maybe with some sort of module on his ship that only tac guys can own.

    Same goes for engeneering.

Now a science guy of course needs Tac points to improve his own ship in terms of weapons he also needs Eng Points to improve his eng related stuff,.... therfore he can provide Science points to the other classes and vice versa and so on.

Lots of ways to improve this basic idea i am sure,... and players would really depend on each other.

Those "Points (or whatever you choose)" are of course tradeable,.... well you get the point.

It wouldnt be to difficult to implement that... just takes a certain time to code.

    Thoughts appreciated....

    Cheers
