Prices on the exchange... Supply & Demand...Items in demand

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
Hi Folks,

Before I post this, I want to let everyone know I searched the forum for previous posts so if there is an existing thread out there on this topic I could not find it.

Isn't it nice to be doing a mission, then all of a sudden a flux capacitor Mk X spawns and you say to yourself, "This is going to sell on the exchange for a butt load of energy credits!"

I would like it if this thread could be used for the regular exchange "Brokers" to post items in hot demand that are rare.

I will get us started out. Please contribute to this thread. Thank you.

TETRYON BEAM ARRAY MK X (average sale price around 600K+)

POLLYALLOY BODY ARMOR MK X Very Rare ( average sale price around 350K+)

Please let's keep this list going. Also, this list is not restricted to Mk X Items. Please list all MK's

I must be a rare case then. Every single piece of loot that I get (unless I am going to use it myself) I post on the exchange for the amount listed on the item. Why you may ask yourself... Well, if I vendor it I get half that cash. If I follow the leader and post it for large profits, it doesn't sell. Since credits are pretty useless anyhow I figure I prefer to draw a quick and reasonable profit as opposed to trying to push the market higher.

So when you use the exchange you may want to do some real shopping because very often you will find people like me. Undercutting just about everyone and making a quick small profit as opposed to trying to make it "rich". I know I'm not alone as I outfitted my escort with Mk X Greens for under 200k including consoles.

I don't see a reason for the exchange anyway, it doesn't take long to get to admiral and then you can do qests that get you purple admiral items.

Once they add the rest of the weapon types to the "mark" store then yes the exchange will just be 20 extra slots for your character to store things on. Until then it is moderately useful.

I do the exact same thing on the exchange. This is called supply and demand.

I just sold an item on the exchange for 350K because everyone else was selling it for 500K. I could have sold that item on the exchange for 11K. The item sold in less than 20 minutes....

Some people say the exchange is worthless, but I doubt they have the EC's I do. If EC's were real dollars, I would be Warren Buffet.

    True...to an extent.

Some items i.e. Tetryon Beam weapons cant be purchasd from exploration missions. If anyone knows of a place I can buy Tetryon Mk X Beam arrays let me know.

I always keep my item prices on the exchange reasonable. Usually I price them at 60-90% of the items' value depending on the demand and competition for the items.

I have often seen items listed BELOW their "value". Like the post above mine that I somehow didn't see. Doh!

Those astronomical "No one in their right mind would ever pay that" prices are gold sellers paying "customers", people using the exchange for storage, and/or idiots.

Currently items that will be dumped around Friday.

    Covariant shield array MK IV
    Covariant shield array mk VI
Disruptor beam array MK X (Uncommon) will drop to about 150 and then level out at 300K within timeframe of 12 days.

    Extream demand for rare foodstuff.
Strong demand on Rare and very rare MK IV items.. to many to list and to many that are "Junk"
Strong demand on all tier 2 crafting items will result in a further inflation on current prices by 10-150% (to many items to list and a foreseeable contraction of prices in the future.

Prices on DATA SAMPLES are at risk of losing 10%- 30% item value, strong market movement of CHEAP crafted X and VIII items has persisted for more then 2 weeks., strong competition between the Data Miner sellers is in full swing, creating Risk in the particular market aria.

Very rare Disruptor/Phaser weapons with + 6 Crit
Very Rare Torpedo weapons with +60 Crit Severity.

I also want to confirm that Price exceptance in excess of 10 million per item is now a reality, in other words, items now sell fairly well at 6 million and will sell at 15 million and higher depending and demand for the item and bonuses on the particular item.

    Thats my 5 cents:

We are a small grown up group of merchants, If I am unable to produce a correct answer i will advise with the group.

If you have a question regarding the Exchange,be it simple or very advanced, your welcome to ask.

I myself concentrate on selling crafted stuff. Having access to tier 3 crafting in all parts (tac/eng/sci). I give a good example - 1 tetryon stun pistol MK VIII (common) costs like 1k - 10k at Exchange. I buy it, craft it into rare (blue) Tetryon beam pistol - Stun Beam Mk VIII and sell it for 295k at Exchange. Similar works with other blue craftables (covariant shields, combat impulse engines - these sell well).

as i lvl'd through pvp alone, i get the cash from the pvp map from each tier and no drops. tbh it does not take long to outfit a ship with green, and the difference between that and purple is so small it has never prevented me from doing well. hell i even topp'd the ranks with mk VIII gear at BG1 killling players solo left and right. in some games that would be impossible due to gear (thinking pvp in eq2 where lvl's and resists would make someone immune to you for example)

If people are making a tidy profit well done, but there is no purpose to it. there was little reason in most mmo's tbh except it could save you some time on a had to get item but that is not the case here, nor can you outfit your house with nice rare stuff, which some like to do. They might introduce stuff to spand all that cash on but i wouldn't hold your breath.

atm it seems the gold farmers are killing the market, when you see 10 items all posted for 40K that at one time where 500K, it's mostly likely gold farmers. so far the best selling items seems to be Tetryon Beam arrays XM what I can't figure out is why a Blue IX has the same stats as a Green X...I hope this changes, a blue IX should have better stats then a green....Love the game but lots of item issues atm

Yes, but the FCA has realized there may be profit on the Exchange, but its only EC. I had 9 mio EC at a point, long before hitting RA. There's nothing I can really do with it. Ok, yeah, buy both T5 ships and equip them, but I can still only fly one at a time. I'm specialized in Tribble food. With some luck and enough ground missions, you can make a million per day. Its fun, but as long as I can't do anything with the money, its a bit pointless.

Depending on the item, I usually list them for these Prices'.

Common > 1/3 their original cost.

Uncommon > 1/2 their original cost.

Rare > 3/4 their original cost.

Very Rare > These usually come bound, so I do not sell them.

On Data Samples here is how I Price them. Since I am not into Crafting.

Red > used to post at 25 credits but there is a glut of them now, so I discard them.

    Aqua > 35 credits each.

    Green > 45 credits each.

    Blue > 55 credits each.

    Yellow > 65 credits each.

    Violet > 75 credits each.

Normally I sell stuff within the value listed on the item, unless its something like a Tricobalt weapon buff console, or popular PvP weapons.

For a while when the game first came out I was selling 3.0 EPS consoles for 300k while everyone else was selling them for 500-1mill. I made enough energy credits to last me for a long time.

Now I keep most things, I only put Rare/Very Rare items on the exchange. I donate most White/Green items to my fleet for the resident Memory Alpha crafter to upgrade.

    you're selling yourself short.

especially on data samples. Green samples sell for as low as 1500 ea to as high as 10,000 ea.
