2 things i'd like to see for the Forums

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
1.
Get rid of the ugly Header and put a picture there that screams "this is Star Trek"...
not something that shows some random Planet Surface... with strange... Tree ...thingys...?

Just put some Spaceship screenshots there (maybe randomized ones
maybe a "picture of the weak" contest going with it ;)

Screenshots the Dev's like the most gets a special place in the header for everyone to see.

2.
"DEV Postings."
There are a lot of threads by now with multiple of Dev-Postings.
If i click on the DEV icon on the left i will only see the latest posting but miss out on the 5 before that... so i have to scroll through every single page to catch them all.

For example try finding all the DEV postings in the engeneering report section. *ugh*
How about filtering all DEV Postings in that thread when you click on that icon on the left?

Or an option to just see all Dev Postings since your last visit?

Or you could just use the advanced search by searching for all posts of this dev sorted by date.

Excessive reading of dev posts is known to cause cancer in the state of California.

Then again, being in the state of California is known to cause cancer so it may only be an additional risk factor. :-)

An Ignore Poster feature that works would be a nice QOL addition too.

    1) If that is your main complaint then Cryptic must be dong pretty good!

HOWEVER, I agree... change it up Cryptic!

    2) It's too bad this needs to be said... I think this is a must. Especially if there are more than 1 Devs posting in the same forum.

It works for me. What about the ignore feature do you not like? I like how it not only ignores that characters posts, but also adds the person to your ignore list in game. Very handy.

So now we have CP staff trolling and taking threads off topic, insulting people and making fun of terminal ill people.

Just when you think CP cant get any lower :(

Reminds me of that old line "Tell me more of this Earth-thing you call context"...

Well considering the OP left this comment, CP staff should act more professional.

I'm not talking about the little kids and trolls on the forums.
We expect things like that from the uneducated and people raised badly.

I just expect a little more from the CP staff.
Its clear this GM/DEV is only attention seeking and trying to big himself up all over the forums, His trolling speaks for itself.

Then again he could be the equal opportunity worker and they had to hire him or they would get sued by the Spastic society.

Either way CP keeps managing to set there bar lower and lower.

If I said 'reading too much into this comment is the reason African people have AIDs' would that be acceptable no lol it would not.

Its called having self-control, empathy and being reasonably professional.

I am glad we have easy going staff for once, I like it if they can take a joke and make a joke.

Lowers the bar a lot for interaction with these people and makes it easier to bring up a suggestion.

From all my years on WoW (EU) en the boards I allways saw that the mods who took things easy and could take/make the joke where the most loved and respected ones.

    On topic:

    I would like to see:

1: Dev post reading yeah, or do it like the wow forums each dev post has a small icon that when clicked jumps you to the next dev post in the tread.

2: Paying members only on game related sections, they can stay in the ten forward for me.

3: a shorter timer between post like take of 15 seconds to make it 30 seconds. I am used to a 30 sec timer and generaly don't hit it, but the 45 second one pops up to much for my taste.

    This ^^

No reason people without a current sub should be posting, causes grief/spam and baby seals to be clubbed.

    4. Add a "Report Spam" button to the SITE's inbox

When I check my inbox at work or something, I can't report these spammers untill I'm able to get into Star Trek Online, which kinda defeats checking your mail if you can't even report a spammer
