I'm not really sure if it makes much difference if the game supports it or not...I have Crossfire and it works - it just works - because it doesn't rely on the game to create a profile for it. That being said, however, I STILL cannot do ground missions because they cause the computer to crash. Whatever the coding is which is different from the ground missions to the space missions has a fatal bug in it that wrecks the video.
Wait, you need SLI to run STO? Even my laptop runs STO at medium graphics with no lag. I would think anything above a 8800 should run STO at max? I guess though if you were just wondering if it worked in SLI/CF for the sake of... working then nvm.
Perhaps I could just be firing some confusion, but if you have a decent graphics card and the game is running poorly your drivers may be an issue, or your Processor/Memory is bottlenecking the cards true speeds.

Not sure, but I do believe so.

SLI/Xfire is waste of money for STO
Edit: actually it's waste of money for everything
