just wondering if anyone else is thinking about going back to there previous games ? i gave sto my 30 days and i may come back to it in a few months to check and see if its getting better and i hope it does but for the time being after the end of this week im going to be going back to wow yes wow.. as tired of it as i am.

in any case simply was wondering if anyone else is going back perhaps we could start new toons or something.

send me a in game mail if ur interested preferably mature people looking to make a new toon.

i dont mean to nor am i trying to undermine or downsize sto im simply wondering if anyone else is going back to there old games i have talked to a few people in game even who are going back to EQ2 but i never got into that one so its back to wow all over again. heres hoping STO does infact get better im just for the tempory not going to wait around and find out.

I headed back to EQ2 for now with my break I am taking between RL issues. I'm hoping with a few of the new things they have brewing and once put in, it will spice things up a bit.

Shame they all seem for higher end. I never thought hte level system was right ... too darn fast. Oh well.

    Here I come Freeport!

Never played WoW & I never will.
I'm here BECAUSE this is nothing like WoW or EQ & I doubt I'm the only one.

I played in beta. That was a serious job. :D Then I played a hunter from release until about level 42.

    And no.

I'd rather have root canal work done on a roller-coaster without any painkiller than returning to that game.

But thanks for the offer, all the same. Good luck. :)

^this. Was in that game since the first server opened up, got to see many things in the game over the years and really enjoyed it. Not nearly as much fun now that many of the people I use to know left that game, and that was the main reason i was still in the game. I may return one day just to dink around but my love for it kinda faded at WotLk.

I decided there are simply too many entertaining game options to devote all my gaming time playing WoW. I certainly had fun with it, but I prefer to look back over the games I've enjoyed and see something other than a block of WoW-time. Enough was enough.

Played WOW, quit, went back for BC, quit, went back for WOTLK. After running around to collect mustard and dogs for the two hundredth time I decided to quit again.

Anyway, have fun back in WOW. I like STO, just achieved RA, and I am going to look for a guild to get into end game content that hopefully isn't too far off.

STO has so much potential, I look forward to the upcoming content. If it doesn't come I'll hang my hat here till SWTHOR MMORPG hits the shelves.

Seriously though...WOW?? have you not done everything like 500 times (even with the massive content). For me the only draw is old buddies, but even then, I'd rather club the walrus people for their skins then gain anymore faction.

I think about going back every day, then i remember why i left. Non-existent BG queues + someone who had 5 80s yet never set foot in a dungeon since sunken temple = nooooooooothing to do. Kinda like RA5 now.

Trying to fill my time trying out all the free to play MMOs out there. Tried Runes of Magic, playing Aika Online, now. I usually last only 1-2 weeks on them but they buy me time until a real game comes out.

Could try ace online if its still around, that was a blast for a while :)

I played wow once for one month at a friends request. I made it to level 62 in one months time and quit from boredom. There is nothing to do at endgame there but raid or pvp so whats the difference in going back to wow other than you dont have space combat in wow?

anyone wondering how this topic ended up here?
Star Trek Online > Star Trek Online Forums > Feedback > General Gameplay

I played wow for 2 hours. I want them back, with several years interest.

I always thought of WoW as the AOL of MMOs. It is fun if you are new to MMOs, and it does not hurt to be a little TRIBBLE either.

    Well, hell....Ill bite...

First mmo I loved was SWG...Anyone who played that knows what happened there

Had a wow account, and if anyone wants it,,, Ill look up the key and give it away

Tried Champions...loved it at first...but it went the same way as STO...needs more ( and is getting it this month)

Came to STO because I love Star Trek and have been waiting for this game to come out for a long time...
But ... After playing the content and running fleet members thru it...Only me and my son and 2 other fleet members even sign on any more.

So now I am trying Global Agenda, as well as having a blast in Mass Effect 2

I played WoW once and never will again.

Blizzard could not offer me enough money to reinstall it on my computer and play it again. You could not pay me to play WoW ever again. I don't care if Blizzard offered me 1 billion dollars and a different SI Swimsuit model every night of the week. I still wouldn't play that garbage.

I played WoW for three years. I hated it awhile and loved it longer. I have no intention of going back and thought I would at some point. I like this game and will stay around I am still having fun.

I played WoW for like three months, kept getting board and starting new toons. Will go back eventually only cause of friends and the thrill of killing quest givers.

There's really nothing left to do in WoW except to raid for me. I hung my gloves up after the second wing of ICC and since then the guild I was in has too. I'll probably resub when Cataclysm comes out to play with non raiding RL friends casually. Checked out AoC free trial and DDO recently but playing another fantasy game doesn't seem appealing atm based upon those 2. STO has my interest for now. I was expecting Klingon PVE content in Season 1 but it probably wouldn't have been much so Season 2 should have loads I hope.

wow i didn't expect this thread to grow so much haha.. in any case to the previous posts im at RA my self and find i have nothing to do and theres really only 1 fleet action aka RAID to do at RA5 - infected i find my self level capd and bored on here after 2 weeks of playing.. the pvp seems lacking and the game while i do agree has great and nearly infinite potential its currently lacking in just to many ways like i stated at the start i gave it my 30 days and i hope it grows to beat the living TRIBBLE outta wow and any thing else out there.

for the time being how ever i am going back to wow soon it always kinda appealed to me even tho i did play the matrix online SWG eq and eq2 CoV and CoH, FFXI, warhammer and now STO. theres Knights of the old Republic coming out later this year even. not to mention the simple time invested and the past friends i made on there. and i happen to like the pvp on there but then i did start horde instead of alliance, theres another expansion coming out later this year even.

also yes i have done just about every thing there is to do in that game alot but the friends and time invested and yes the pvp i happen to like as well as making new toons twinked or other wise with friends is fun to me.

how ever like i said i will check back in a few months in the hopes that this game will grow in great proportions just looking to fill the gap in the mean time.

I prefer not to chew cud, but to each there own. I have been playing since OB and i am still having fun made a tactical sci and eng alt to play with and have gone slow. Getting to RA in a week or whatever is a choice no one held a gun to your head to make you do that and clearly it wasn't fun so why not try again play an alt goof around. Games are as fun or not as you make them. Also i would sooner have oral surgery through my TRIBBLE then play WOW.

I will never go back to WoW. I had a good time in the game for a good year and a half. And I have gone back from time to time over the last 2 years. I could never last longer that 2 weeks both time I went back. It is just not fun anymore for me.

With all the MMO's coming out in the next year or so, there is no reason to go back just to WoW. I will stay here and play the other two MMO's I sub to. Then cancel two of them next year when some possibly good MMO's will hit the market.

I have to laugh at the irony here: You've never played WoW but you're here because STO is nothing like something you've never played? Did I get that right? "CognitiveDissident on the mountain with eye's shut" I'd say.

On topic: Played it. It was good while it lasted, just got to the end and have already done the gear treadmill twice won't do it again. Will probably pick it back up after cataclysm to check out what's changed. But been mostly thinking of going back to Eve. Every time I login to STO I just feel like I'm "forcing myself on" (the word in censored so...) Eve's mentally handicapped little sister, and that just makes me feel dirty. So will probably end up back with Eve.

    I'm a lifer, so I'll never leave ;)

but I may have a mistress from time to time... I have an active EVE subscription, though it's really just me training skills... and I'll probably shell out for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm when it comes, for instance.
... but I aint ever going back to raiding.
