Is it me or is this game already dieing???
I no of a load of people that have left and gone back to there old mmo's and I do tend to find my self rather lonly on a lot of maps and systems, yeah theres players there but most seem to be AFK or just doing nothin at all and taking the credit for it.
Please tell me this is not the case as I keep getting into mmo's then just as I start to enjoy it the servers start to empty out

Have faith, there are those of us sticking around. I'm not a lifer but I'm staying.
Just 8 days ago, I started my fleet, and we already have 40+ members. I have no idea what you are talking about.
have no problems getting into open instance teams either.
maybe because it's compartmentalized perhaps, but to compare to aion which had small zones and even smaller mob fields by a month into these small zones which weren't multiple instanced felt alot emptier.
/Agree
Clicking to change instance will show you how many players are in the current instance map and other instances but there's no real way to find how many people are playing at any given time.
happens to every zerg recruiting guild in every mmo, even wow. just keep zerg recruiting to keep up your numbers like experienced zerg guilds do.
A 300 man fleet in a new mmo?, did you just use a bot to recruit every players that passed you?.
A fleet like yours will always be losing members because of your blanket recruiting policy, im better a lot were 5 day freebees as well lol.
To the poster who said "My fleet has over 40 members" How many of those are the same account?
I see alot of people in game too, THE SAME PEOPLE. These folks are not on my friends list, nor fleet members, they are just other people playing the game. Maybe the game groups people to the same instances based on location? Probably not though.
This game is not doing as well as they are forecasting, my disappearing posts seem to confirm that. Wonder how long this one will stay up...
Are you ****ing kidding? I have played nintendo games with more content and depth than this game. I got an emulator the other day to play some AD&D pools of radiance, this game could learn a few lessons on character depth from that 20 year old title.
This is true, the game doesn't fit the mold for the usual depth found in many MMO's. That is why the game is mainly for casual players. There isn't really anything at this point to keep hardcore players playing.
There are many casual players out there though. And these players can be found plugging along in game. So I have not seen a big drop off. Mainly because of the instance style. Only 50 players will be in a sector with you at any one time.
The game will be closer to a real MMO after the summers season 2 goes live. The season one is just putting in what was missing at launch. It can and will get better, but it will be way too late for the hardcore players.
Those people are the playerbase of nothing. They simply exist to provide an early influx of cash for new games.
I'd say at least, sure I'm pulling this percentage out of my hat, but I believe its close........at least a 30% drop...probably more.
I am a lifer, I enjoy the game and I am here to stay. However I will not discount any facts, and the fact is that many people have left.
If he had said anything even remotely like that, the trolls would have crawled out from their holes long ago to flood the forums. At what point in the interview did you hear that? 3:18 minutes? 7:37 minutes?
The counter starts as soon as someone caps points. While your suggestion of starting games after enough people are present would help a bit with that, it wouldn't make your scenario impossible because people leave/warp out/disconnect mid game as well and thus get replaced by whoever else is next in the queue and answers the game-ready window. So joining a game shortly before its over can't really be prevented that easily, unless preventing reinforcements in general - which would be a bad thing imo.
I haven't listened to it yet, but two friends of mine have confirmed:
His comment on subscribers come around the 21 minute mark. He tries to alleviate the situation by stating that WoW is the problem and that gamers only compare new MMOs today with WoW and don't allow for new releases to mature
I doubt the people who hate the game will listen for that long, or according to the numbers they are already long gone.
Overall, the subscription numbers don't surprise me, just look at the race they just added. Pakleds...PAKLEDS? The ugly dull-witted race that shows up in one TNG episode? The race that "looks for things to make them go"? Is that what you really think of us Cryptic? That we'll enjoy playing one? Someone over there really deserves a close and personal look at the unemployment line.
And you believe that number?
Idk where you are but there's a ton of people where I am with a chance of growth....
By no means was my observation scientific or thorough just a casual observation.
Alright, I just listened to the podcast, at the 20-21 minute mark.
1. He specifically mentions having 100,000 subscribers.
2. There were a million copies sold.
That's means 90% of the people who bought the game either didn't subscribe, or cancelled.
Yes, the game is getting smaller, but is by no means doomed.
