I can see my launcher running, and it seems to be using the autoupdater just fine. However, before it brings up the login screen the program crashes with this error: "A file was locked that could not be open for writing."
This is not the first time it's come up. In the past, I logged into my computer as an admin, found the Cryptic folder, and changed properties so the folder was no longer Read Only. Under the security tab, I changed permissions so the user "Creator Owner" could make changes to the folder. In the past, this would free up the software, and the game would run fine after that. However, tonight, this no longer worked.
I realize this may be more of a Windows 7 problem, and not a STO problem, but none of my other programs turn off their own write access.
Not super likely that it is a permissions issue then, unless you have manually altered the folder perms. I assume you have already tired rebooting, right? That will generally clear most file locks in Windows. If that doesn't do it, deleting/moving the existing copy and reinstalling via http://files.startrekonline.com/install/star_trek_online_setup.exe. Just make sure you use the same install path as last time.
