Infected and Rebecca

Has anyone posted some help around taking down the boss in the final battle with Rebecca? Throough lots and lots and LOTS of practice, I've gotten better at jumping on boxes and not falling in acid and flipping switches with two other players, but none of that seems to help when we've dropped the shields and taken out the generators.

I know her AOE can nearly wipe a team of five, and I've heard melee damage can interrupt this attack, but for instance...

one time she seemed to float above us until we had nearly cleared all the drones and other times she immediately charged at us with all the drones still alive. It seems she "adapts" ...just looking for what has worked and what doesn't. Any help?

Problem is, Devs are fixing all of our ways to kill her now. Plasma leaks and insta death door in the next patch I believe. Apparently there is a "right" and "wrong" way to fight her, and Cryptic wants us to only be able to do it the "right" way. So any strategies we come up with will likely become null if/once those changes are put in place. I may be wrong about that, but I remember a Dev posting about those changes.

basically they want us to fight her as if we were the dev team and not individuals who ALWAYS find a way around things. Its human nature to find different tactics to by pass an obstacle. I just think its funny they had to implement changes to force us into what they had expected.

    Heres the Dev post:

I guess I was wrong, plasma may only effect one platform or something. I'm not gonna bother with the effort of trying to even get to end just to see whats true and what isn't. At any rate there *will* be plasma jets or w/e.

    This is what bugs me:
hopefully it prompts you to find the the correct way to beat her, this time around.

So far the best Flanking Strategy the 701st has come up with is, there is a pretty long platform between the Top Right and Bottom Right Shield generators, our "Virus Team" jumps back there to flank her. I usually start off with a Force Field Dome, Shield Gen, Medical Gen., Turrent, Drone, and Cover Shield on my left Flank to prevent spawns from shooting me. So far aside from using the Shield Platforms, this has been our fastest kill (1 attempt no wipes, Queen down in 10 minutes)

    Thanks Reon,
did you and your whole group gather there? Or did you spread out? were your one engr force field and shield and health generators enough to supply the whole group through here AOE attack? what was your group makeup?

I've seen her die a dozen plus times, and her behavior seems to vary greatly. It's been said that there is a fair bit of randomness associated with her, specifically regarding her AoE.

The strategy the team I am on generally uses is we all meet up on the back right corner and take her out from there. The idea being to eliminate the damage the other respawning drones do. Plus it's pretty easy to knock them into the plasma and start focusing on Becca again.

One theory is to avoid shooting and firing while you are targeted with the blue circle around you. It seems that this helps, however I can't say for certain that is is the "trick" to beating her. I've still been nearly taken out while targeted and neither shooting or being healed.

Another tip is to avoid armor or shields that automatically heal or do damage. The idea being that if the targeting thing actually does do something, then you don't want your armor kicking in on it's own. Same idea applies to spawning security escorts.

The frustrating thing is that I've seen her drop in heartbeat with everyone simply pointing their guns at her and firing, and there have been times we're wiped within the first 30 seconds. Rarely does the encounter with her go the same way twice.

My favorite was when she glitched out and fell in the plasma. MAN I wish I was recording the screen that time. Seeing her burn in that wretched plasma was sweet revenge for all the times I've swimmed in it.

OK.... this works......way maybe to kill her and all the borg in the room really fast is this. Have 2-3 engineers when you come in run up to the midle platform and spam turrets there. after eatch time you do this run down to the door and kill your self in the plasma by the door were you have the rest of the team standing by to res you to life, then run up again spam turrets on the platform . do this again and again untill there is turrets everywere on the platform. when you done that for like 10 minutes the turrets will have killed everything in the room. then take down the shields, kill the main generatorshield in the middle of the room. then the queen comes out and you have 50 turrets killing her in no time.

Ha! That's priceless. That's: "We weren't as clever as we thought we were so we're going to fix it this time so we're cleverer in the future."
