Feds and cloaking.

The federation should be allowed to use cloaking devices. It's not like they should be bound by that treaty anymore since the romulans are badically working with the dominion now and we at war with the Kilingons,

In the future this might be a good idea. At the moment however till Klingons get more content i don't think so. Many of the ppl who play Klingon so they can cloak would play fed and that would hurt the population on the Klingon side even more.

Romulans are getting help from the Hirogen, not the Dominion and even if they were that was not a violation of the treaty. The treaty is in place to settle territorial disputes not control who the Romulans can be allied w/.

In before 3 pages of ""omg we arent at war with the Romulans, so the treaty still stands. Even though we are on a "shoot first ask questions second even in the neutral zone" standing witht hem""

It's an idea for later. They can even make it use up an engineering console slot

"Star Trek: The Next Generation" All Good Things... (1994) Episode 278

Capt. Picard finds himself shifting continually into the past, future and present and must use that to discover a threat to humanity's existence.

Picard is in the future on Beverly Crusher's Science Vessel with Geordi, Data, and Worf which is being attacked by two Klingon Battleships when Riker comes uncloaked underneath both of them destorys one as he passes thru.

The Federation should be able to cloak.

Nope.Completely unecessary. You know the feds can mask signature right? That effectively cloaks you- out of combat.Battlecloak isnt a gamebreaker so no the feds dont need cloaking.

For those of you who think we are at war with the romulans please read your mission text instead of blowing by it, the reason for the "Shoot first ask questions later!" is made apperent.

The Federations is trying to PREVENT having a war with them, border skirmishes do not equal a war.

standard policy (assuming the standards of politics can be applied to a fictional world) is to honor any treaties with any faction until such a time a treaty becomes null and void upon declaration of war. There is also termed "act in good faith" which is the honoring of treaties though a state of war is in effect as a visible concession in hopes of re-initiating a treaty or drafting a new one.

Feds, based on the lore and all considerations there-in, don't have cloaks for the reasons mentioned by Paneth and myself. Feds do have ECMs that work like cloaking but aren't cloaking. the only real difference is lack of invisibility.

Also, what kind of fun would it be if everyone was cloaked on a PvP map and not able to see one-another? it would look like the other side decided to bug out of the mission. Come on people, think about it.

BTW, I only have Fed toons at this time. this is a Fed saying these things.

Should be since the relevant treaties are not in effect, but doubtful for game balance.

Try using it, it doesn't work at all. In PvP its been nerfed to the point of uslessness...I'm spotted by decloaked klingons at the usual range of detection with out MES. Guarenteed... and I cant even use it for the stealth detect that it claims it has. Had a Klingon decloak 3k away from me, didn't even see him and I was MES shot me to ribbons... had the same happen at 10k
