A Question About Otha

Otha is the Ground Based Resource map found in the Neutral Zone. I believe the Klingons have their own version also, right?

Anyway, last time this was working I recall seeing 7 people per faction per instance. A single person was able to beam down with 4 of their bridge crew resulting in a total of 35 characters per faction, a grand total of 70 per instance.

What I never got round to testing was beaming down with some team members. so here's my question.

If I beam down with 6 friends the total amount of players from my faction will be 10 (5 people in team 1 and 2 players + 3 BO's in team 2). If the opposite faction has 7 individual players they have a total of 35 characters....

... that's 25 more....

When Otha is reintroduced how will this issue be addressed? Will players beam down without BO's? Will the total number of potential players still remain at 70?

Discussion, suggestions and of course some answers would be great.

Just tried it on the Tribble server - they have reopened Otha. You do not seem to beam down with your BOs, and neither does it give you the option for reinforcements. Fun little map tho.

I can confirm this: I beamed down on Tribble, and it was just me. It was actually entirely doable by myself (Starfleet Eng). I was able to kill 5 groups of borg (with a few deaths) and kill 4 groups of plasma cannon/turrets to upload viruses for completion. So maybe the problem here is ease?

Of course, it seems that Klingons will probably be actually fighting me when it goes live, so that may take away from the relatively low level of difficulty. When you say that Klingons have "their own version," I think you may be confused. If it's anything like Ker'rat, they'll have a similar mission (rescue 5 people, upload a virus 4 times) that they have to complete before the feds complete theirs to win, but it'll all be in the same zone, with the PvP free for all that will no doubt ensue.

What NEEDS to be tested is whether or not large enough groups of Feds in the War Zone will spawn on opposite sides, like they do in Ker'rat. It's super fun, I know, but it really oughtn't to happen.
