STO problems - please help!

I'm expierincing heavy problems while playing or while starting the game.

I could never start STO and play without various problems. let me explain:

After launcher started in the character menue - not possible to join the game because of "Retrieve list of map", then "unable to connect xyz..."

After a few attempts (5-6) I maybe come into the game, but nothing happens. I cant move, cant click anything. The enviroment seems to work properly - around me another players are flying, NPC ets move.

So I have to exit the game and to start the whole procedure again. With a bit of luck I come after variuos attemps in the game again and the server is not responding (that is a progress, because I have now to log off 2-3 timees until I finally can move and play)

But the fun is not very long. While changing the map the load screen stays often unchanged and the game seems to hang. So I have to kill the process and start the above procedure again.

NEED HELP PLEASE!

    Yeah it sounds like either his PC is severely underpowered and/or a really bad network connection.

    Same thing has been happening to me recently.And don't say it's my PC or Connect when i had no problems until 2-3 weeks ago.With these new problems i just decided to cancel my sub.I like the game but if i can't play it when i want to there's no sense in wasting my money.

    My PC:
    CPU: Intel Core Duo E6600
    RAM: 4 GB DDR II
    VIDEO: GeForce 9800 1025 MB
    HDD: SATA II
    DVD: SATA II
    OS: Win7 x64

    Internet: ADSL 3000 (350 KB downstream)

    Firewall is deactivated
    Antivirus software: Avira Antivir Professional (no firewall, just antivirus protection)

    @IG tickets: please, they are a bad joke. no answer, or 0815 robot dummy.

    I'm never expiriencing any network problems, the connection is always clear and stable.

    A few things you can try:

    1. From the launcher, click options then choose a proxy server to connect to. Now try launching the game. (Do this a few tiems as there a mulitple servers you randomly connect to)
    2. From the launcher, click safe mode, and try and connect.
    3. Check all Firewall/Av settings to allow the launcher and game client full access to the net, inluding TCP ports 7000 through 7500. ( If youa re unsure how to do this, simply uninstall the software. You can always reinstall later)
    4. Run http://files.champions-online.com/nettest.exe with full admin rights, and post the results here.

    One thing that caught my eye, can you run a speedtest on your connection and post teh details. 350kb/s is terrible for a downstream line

    I opened the port range 7000-7500 in my router and deactivated sto-proxy. I'm not sure what exactly helped, but I can now play really really good, w/o any problems!

    @tedgp123: I mean the real speed in KiloBYTE per sec, not kiloBIT.
