... at the end of trainig misson?

While trying out my liberated Borg on teh Tribble server, It just dawned on me that the EMH is on the USS Khitomer is talking to you as though he is on board your ship now.

Is he my EMH on the ship I am initially assigned to as Ensign? Do all Starfleet ships have EMHs now, or only certain ones?

Or is he just checking up on me from the USS Khitomer? If he is, shiouldn't my officer I got from the USS Khitomer be telling me I have an Incoming Message from the EMH on the USS Khitomer?

This leads me to believe he is my Emergency Medical Hologram. However, he talks as though we had met before, which in the case of Khitmoer's EMH, we did.

Quote: Excellent work Engisn. Obviously, the exceptional advice and guidance i gave you, during this ordeal was key to your success...."

Thoughts?

He was the tutorial all the time and gave you instructions over the comm system. This was his goodbye. After all they do have subspace messages in Star Trek.

He also said he would keep an open com line after you've scanned one of the injured patience.

He also says he hopes to be a father figure to you, and then you never see him again. Now I know how it feels to have a father abandon me. :D

'Please state the nature of the fatherly emergency?'

"Dad why did you leave me?"

'I'm sorry I am not programed to respond that emergency, end program'

That is correct. Throughout the tutorial your com line is open to the EMH. Your bridge officer doesnt notify you because the line has been open all this time.

One of the loading screen factoids says that all ships now have holoemitters throughout, so the EMH can wander the halls aimlessly if they want to.

Which is why any boarding parties will have a heck of a time on my ships, since I have the Jungle theme running.

Thanks guys for all the great responses. I did not catch that he was keeping the comm line open throughout the mission, but now I am suffering from feelings of abandonment. :(

While I think it's not exactly Quinto's best work (it IS his first voiceover gig; part of why he did it was to try out VO), what I find interesting is that he really does come across like Robert Picardo in places and, yet, when asked, he had no idea who Picardo was or that there was an EMH on Voyager.
