ok this was my first run in this raid, we all have the maxed out purple gear. the raid i thought was too long and very boaring. fighting the borg over and over again and having to take out them borg generater nodes was just sickning....find the nodes in the room and then have to bull rush the room to take out nodes, die respawn run throw base again, and repeat all the way to the first borg boss.

now the first borg boss was fun his little spaech he makes was funny....

then back to the same thing i talked abought all the way to the queen...more death and nodes to take out...

now the queens room i was hopeing for some fun,,,ummmmm nop. all this jumoing around and having to have 3 players too take sheilds down wile the other 2 try and hold agro so the sheild can be droped. not too fun....then if you get hit with a little lag and miss a jump your in the plasma and watch 529 dam roll off and charecter dead in 3 sec....wow now we go throw reviving player wile trying to fight borg off just to have player run to platform pop healing then get hammered buy borg....

and the big 5 min time when first sheild goes down NOT fun.....im not a kid,im older and my reflexs are not the best so the bounce and jump games are not for me.....

i will say IMO i give this raid a D+ at best. the story not that great the space combat was a little fun but could have been tougher....but over all it was 2 hours of not fun with maby 45 min of fun..dint mind fighting the borg in station at first but affter so many deaths and repeats.....ill say thumbs down and will not keep repeating this....

hope cryptic can do better.........

Once u play it a lot and get to know all the little details it gets a lot easier. Ive dont it have the group only wipe once and that cause someone got stuck in the queens room.

Actually it's easy there are many groups out there that don't wipe, you may have the odd 1 or 2 people die it isn't hard once you get used to it so its not BS at all.

You don't need to rush anything each node is separate and so are the patrols so you can destroy a node and just pull that group, there are multiple posts about this raid and if you seek them out there is allot of advise and strategy to get your through.

LMAO! Just because you failed doesn't mean others do. This raid is difficult for newer players, it's not difficult for others. Instead of declaring "bs", why not ask other players what YOU'RE doing wrong. People like the other poster are willing to help, but not when you act like a child.......

Personally (and I've said this several times) for an entry level 5-man raid I am incredibly disappointed with "The Infected".

    IMHO Rules with five mans:
    1) Need to be Pugable. (People play the game for fun not as a 2nd job)
    2) Vent/Team speak should not be a necessary requirement for coordination.
    3) Five-man instances should not last more than an hour.

I'm going to wait for the 62 day patch. I really wanna stay playing this game. It's FUN to play!
Give me casual Admiral 5 group Content! I'm getting bored with this game.

However this is Cryptics perpetual problem with all their games. They make single player games with chat rooms that are so much fun to play and then when you hit the level cap there is just nothing to do. Especially in the "Grouping/Teaming" category.

I want lots of repeatable group content. (2-5 mans.) Something that I can "do" in game that wont take 4 hours but wont be solo friendly.

Right now we have Faceroll Content levels 1-45 and then a 5-man Group Daily Raid that is smash your face into the wall annoying. Where is the middle ground?

Now I say annoying above because after a few times it's not difficult. It's too long, annoying, and bottom line the time invested simply isn't worth the rewards.

Where is the content for people with lives? People who wanna log in for an hour to team up with friends for a "dungeon" and log off? There isn't any.

However I have hope... you have to have hope...

Well for 2 games now I've found this one particuluar node keeps respawning, not rehealing RESPAWNING. This means that whatever we do once we all die the node pops back up along with the borg so it's a never ending fight. I heard about making it harder but this is beyond ridiculous.

While I rarely post in these here "forums", this caught my attention. I ran infected last night with a Fleet-mate and three other PuG's. We used vent, and I was amazed at how fast we ran through it. Myself being the only first timer to the STF, the rest knew what was going on. However, there was one spot where we wiped due to pulling the wrong group and the other spot we intentionally wiped to regroup. Other than that .... 2 hours max and viola, done.

Although, me getting glitched through the shield door and kicked out the Queen room was lulzy; especially when she still agroed me and I took no damage. Huzzah for TRIBBLE code!! Good job.

yea we ran into a few nodes that did that...they would respawn and would have to do the hole thing again....or we would be faling back and run into a group...that happend at lest one time. or have to re spawn to have a player telling us there borg back in the room and we have to back track and kill the room again so the player could get to us.

Taking a seasoned group through "Infected": 2-5 deaths each on average in my experience.

Taking a new group through "Infected": 10+ deaths each on average in my experience.

I've been through Infected multiple times, and I even forget if the next room has 1 or 2 nodes, and if the next node is too close that it needs to be taken out too. But I am smart enough to back up and regroup when that spawned wave comes in. However, if you're unlucky and get rooted by that wave while falling back, your chances of dying skyrocket.

Fotunately dying in there isn't a big deal with no death penalty right now. But it does slow down the whole run having to run back for whole or partial party wipes. Resuscitation isn't always best if they're too close to a group of Borg with a node around.

Taking out the nodes first = sacrificing some of the group if they're not able to heal/charge shields fast enough. Even with a precision strike of a 5-man team, one or two people are going to get the brunt of the borg group's attacks. It's the primitive aggro AI that makes it a sacrifice run to take out nodes.

It's only the final room where skill comes into play with timing, tactics, and jumping (not tough for those who've played plenty of action video games in the past). The rest is a zerg fest that is bound to have plenty of deaths for the average party. It's nice to see at least stealth helps here.

Guess what. the secont raid is the exact same raid in many ways. only you start fighting the borg outside when you beam down. i know booring. you get sick and tired of the running and the nodes. what they should have did was to make the second raid somthing else then borg, but no its the same all over again. Maybe they should hire a Star Trek raid consulting person when it commes to raid.

This happen to me last night to. was standing by the door and think someone pushed me and i went thru
the shield to were we respawn. there i had to stand like a moron while the rest of my team did all the work of killing the queen. The queen actually came thru the door shield 2 times and damage me alot. Anybody else hate the fact that in order to enter the sequence to lower shields you have to stand in an exact way. if you enter the code and the three players have to do it again they all have to go back and forth like a car parking to find the exact spot, otherwise you cant enter the sequence.

Wow, that seriously bites. Cryptic is digging themselves an MMO grave here. You'd think they would make the next major part of this storyline a little more dynamic than just nodes with borg zerg fest again. Very sad. They're smelling like roses for artwork and using the IP, but turning up rotten fish for content.

Yup, I ran Vox (Vorcain) through Infected with a group and we noticed this. I can't be sure if it was glitched or if we didn't take out both nodes in the rooms where this happened. It happened in the Commander's room and the room right before it.

ocassionaly a borg will bugg out in the room with the flower pot in.

u can tell when this happens as it looks like the borg is watering/assimilating the plant pot.

shortly after you pass the room the borg will respawn in that room

im pretty sure its a bug & not meant to happen.

Well, lol, there are plants in almost all rooms in the beginning (this was a Federation station with alien potted plants). But I know what you mean. I've seen bugged borg (non-targetable) in many different rooms, and then later they respawn other Borg. But I've only seen this on one run with some slightly-laggy people. The other runs I didn't see this at all. Not sure if it's a coincidence or not.

I've done it a few times now and yeah its a bit buggy getting pushed out the forcefield is well annoying.

Once you get used to it its not to bad though guys it is a bit long winded the getting to the room though.

And for me i really dont think the rewards versus the time is not worth it you get the same weapons from doing cluster missions for 5 titckets how they call this a reward for one of the hardest missions in the game is beyond me.

    Space Portion is perfect.

Borg Hallway of Zerg needs to be reduced by about 50% but otherwise is fine.

Queens Room. Plasma needs to do equivalent damage of a Plasma Grenade not WTFPWN kill you. In addition the timers on the corners should be removed.

It might feel that way, but the last room is not "long winded". It should take around 5 minutes to get the shields down and destroy the middle generator to get the borg leader to spawn. It's timed, so taking too much longer than that results in having the shields go back up again.

The last room is short compared to the rest of the raidisode. Unless your party is constantly failing and having to reset it?

Hey Cael. :) Just a reminder, this isn't the queen we were fighting. It's the borg leader. The borg queen is at the end of all of these borg raidisodes. Yeah, confusing since the borg leader is a female.

As for the plasma, I think it's fine, because people can always resuscitate you if you're close to the edge. What isn't fine to me is the timed cooldown for each corner node after uploading the virus. I always hate timed anything in MMOs. It was better before the patch to fix it.

If we didn't have the timed aspect, the plasma would be no big deal. ;)

Personally, I think the timer and respawn rate of the last room could use some adjustment. The hallways to the first boss go faster if you pull carefully and destroy the nodes quickly.

Ditto. It should be 1.5x times longer and it would still be challenging without being frustrating.

With 5 people in a group there, especially if I run new people through it which is what I enjoy doing, the chances of someone slipping up a bit is bound to happen.

I'll probably get burned for this, but here goes.... Cryptic could solve a lot of their woes with the difficulty slider they keep talking about. Then those folks who want more challenging content can "ramp it up" and the same as such could be done with the Infected run... just allow us to ramp it down so it can be done with less than 5 players with BO's filling in the blanks. I know the elitist teenage crowd hates the thought of this because it belittles their accomplishment, but for a guy who is just a couple years shy of 50yrs old I don't need to realize my self worth from a computer game. I just want to be able to login, blow stuff up, and have a FUN time.... NOT have to stress about what button to push, when to push it, and why I'm pushing it!
