I have this in the other thread, but it will get buried quickly so I just wanted to start its own thread to let people know what to look for if they wanted to get the TOS Uniform.
May/June 2010 Beckett Massive Online Gamer Magazine:

Inside (Page 17) you will find the code:

After you input the code you will get an email, and when you stop at a tailor you should see this:

And my little guy looking cool!

Word of caution. I bought a couple of copies at Micro Center. None of the magazines where in plastic and any person could just open them up and copy down the code.
Also I bought a magazine for a friend who dosen't play STO anymore, so I have an extra code. I was wondering if it was against STO rules if I could sell that code for something like Energy Credits.
Could I get a Dev answer if it against the STO rules to sell this code for Energy Credits? (Or a link to a dev saying that?)
Get them while you can!
Comments
Yes, its against the rules to sell them. There used to be a sticky at the top of this page saying the same thing about Del Taco codes.
Yep, read the same thing.. the only thing you can do is run a free contest on the forums and give the code away to the winner.
LOL, doesn't bother me anymore, getting used to them doing this kind of stuff. Pretty sure every "exclusive" item will be in the C-Store at some point.
Anyone want to take bets when the red matter capacitor or the turret will be given out? LMAO
Still, another crappy move brought to you by the Cryptic marketing team.
At least try to keep it "exclusive" for more than few weeks before you give it away it magazines.
meh.......:(
You have all disappointed Chat greatly... Hope you happy with yourselves.
Ahem...
Exclusive inclusive.
As long as they don't touch Chats TR-116... For then she is going to their office and shoot them right through the wall!
Yup Lifetime subs for 500 cryptic points =P
Hey, I think I saw a TR-116 in the C store a minute ago
It was called Vera
Its nowhere that easy, but you can support your game time by using in game currency,
No its not. The devs said its fine to raffle/lottery/bid or swap an item for Energy Credit as long as you dont sell it for money then you are just find. Dont believe me then message a mod and ask, Its been done many times.
I thought so also....
Any dev that reads this, I would appreciate a response! oh and bump :P
Now if only some magizine was giving away code to get a TOS hand phaser, communicator emote, and Tricorder!
Careful, or you'll be whining about them yourself
I can let this one thing go. But if they do this with any more of the Special Edition items I'm going to explode. Give away the pre-order stuff that is still available in the stores anyway because of the poorly thought out way the pre-order codes worked. Don't give away the Special Edition (Collector's Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition and Gold Edition) stuff. People paid extra for those and they are part of LIMITED EDITION packages. It's not like players can't still buy those anyway. You want the TNG and DS9 outfits? Pay for the Collector's Edition.
They'd better NOT. The CO devs promised that would never be available any other way. If they make that available to everyone that would make the entire team at Cryptic liars in the eyes of the players that love them most.
It's being selfish to want the EXCLUSIVE items that I paid EXTRA for to remain EXCLUSIVE? Maybe so. But I PAID for the right to be selfish, didn't I?
I know what you are saying, maybe if they give out any more stuff from the DDE or even CE(I bought both among other stuff) they'll give us our own place to hang out. LMAO
I bought the Collector's Edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition, a total of $151.98 with tax to have access to these bonuses. Giving them to players for anything less is an insult to anyone who paid for the Special Editions.
And I'm stating my opinion and going off the fact that Cryptic devs have promised that these kind of EXCLUSIVES would not be offered willy nilly to every Tom, TRIBBLE and Harry that has 150 C-Points or $5.00 to spend.
What? Just because I have an opinion that differs from yours and goes against you getting everything for free it must be whining and crying like a baby? To this I say, you are trolling and laying flame bait. Well, that dog won't hunt, my friend. I'm not swallowing that hook.
Down the line is one thing. Less than 2 months after release is another.
And if anywhere, it should be in the C-Store so Cryptic can get the money to help develop more things for STO. In a magazine like this, Cryptic only sees more cash if someone buys the magazine and starts to play by making a new account. Cryptic isn't getting any of the royalty money that Beckett is getting off the magazine sale. If any money was exchanged (probably wasn't), then it was Cryptic paying Beckett for the advertising space.
TOS was supposed to be for DDE ONLY since it's not a preorder but still attached to DDE purchases and doesn't seem like that will change anytime soon. So now the Mirror Uniforms will be possible fair game too. Don't believe it will never appear anywhere now.
Aye. But the bonuses that I am referring to are not Pre-Order bonuses. They are Special Edition Exclusives. That's a totally different thing, man.
Also, the Special Editions (Collector's Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition and Gold Edition) are all still available for purchase and in addition all of the Pre-Order items area also still available because the codes to unlock them are tied solely to the Retail game code and do not require a Pre-Order code at all.
Get me?
I would guess that the ad is there, but there is no code to unlock the Borg BO. It merely states that the Borg BO is still available with the purchase of the game from Amazon, which is no surprise since the Retail Code, not the Pre-Order code, unlocks that bonus. After all, why would they give you the code to unlock it for free when they could entice you to buy the game from them to get it instead?
Again this is a guess, but it makes sense.
