Any ideas how we could protest effectively in game?
A Youtube video at the High Council Chamer of 50 Klingons doing the EXILED Emote for Cryptic? :D

Exactly. For a protest to work, there has to be considerable support. That is something the Klingons don't have in this game.

    Hardly any ships zooming about.
Klingon zone chats are practically dead.
Even the Gold Sellers don't bother in the KDF zones.

this is the way it is pretty much until you reach brigadier general. there's pvp which appears to be the primary way to level, there's one space pve map (empire defense) that you do over and over (the only difference as you level is the opponent: federation, romulan, cardassian, borg) and one ground pve map (mining planet) but that one stops letting you in after a while.

once you reach tier 5 (BG, aka RA) there will be some additional pve options, but they won't be klingon-specific, they're just the same missions that feds get but playable on the klingon side also.

Klingons need to find a voice. A protest would help as well. Go on STRIKE!!! No FvK PvP for a few days. Klingons going in with Fed alts and calling out any Klingon players to leave. Klingon players taking tehir alts to Sol and staging a loud rally.

    NO CONTENT - NO KLINGONS

    FIX PvP!!

Contact your Klingon fleet leaders and have them organize, have them read this thread.

rofl, whats that actually going to do really? Your just doing Cryptic a favor by leaving klingons and going Fed side. Since there will be FvF the lack of FvK will not matter in the long run.

    It matters now?

Remember when this was supposed to be a multi faction game?

Have the Fed trolls left the building?

As I see it the choices are:
    • become a Fed (maybe a Fed Klingon)
    • do nothing and watch the Klingon faction fade into the night
    • do whatever we have to to get the attention of Cryptic: protest, strike, band some Fleet leaders together to speak for us, submit many many tickets on Klingon content, etc.

Someone or some group needs to be able to speak for the faction. In my opinion we actually do need a "high council" (or a Union?) to interface with Cryptic.

Yup, and I would like it to stay that way, however seeing things like "We should all quit and play Fed!" annoys me. Its just basicly making Cryptics job easier to do. If you stay klingon and complain something might get done. as it is there are few klingons as it is.

    Things I understand:

It takes time to make tailored content
It takes time to balance things

We are getting some things and honestly a few explore missions to do dont really bother me much as long as its something I can do from levels 6-45. This does not mean I will not push for wanting more klingon content and the whole faction being fleshed out more. To be honest klingons need to be fully fleshed out before they even think about a third faction.

or we can just wait for the content they have in development to come out in a few months.

Some of you are being totally irrational about a lot of this. Cryptic can't simply flip a switch and bring us all the content we could ever want. It takes time to develop this stuff, it isn't done over night, in one week, or even one month. It takes multiple months to develop the content you all are looking for.

Cryptic might even have a few PvE episodes done and ready to go live, but if they gave them to us, everyone would cry out saying "That is all we get?!? BURN THE CASTLE!"

Just relax and wait a little bit for the content to come out. They aren't plotting against you at Cryptic HQ and the content is coming, it will just take time.

While we wait, lets have some fun, okay?

All my friends in game keep telling me, "Cryptic is racist against Klingons."

Kind of an ingame joke these days. If they werent adding FvF then I'd recommend just boycotting pvp as a Klingon for a bit. Do KvK or something. If Cryptic doesnt change the daily to allow FvF to count that probably would get their attention since the fed players would throw their voice in. I doubt they would support the Klingons though. Would probably just be a call to change teh daily to not include fighting the Klingons....

Wait A LITTLE BIT FOR CONTENT? How much content? For how long a wait? I'd settle for half of the Fed content and character/ship customization - half is enough, for a start, provided it isn't too long a wait, and Cryptic makes a good faith effort (unlike the bad faith effort of the 45-day update).

What Cryptic should be doing: ;)

    - kissing Klingon butts, not the other way around
    - dropping EVERYTHING that isn't Klingon related and rushing to put Klingon content (PvP and PvE) into the game (it may take 6-9 months of nothing but working on Klingon "priorities" just to get halfway to the Federation standard)
    - place the entire "art department" on Klingon character/ship customization
    - get their devs and executives on this forum to explain and appologize for the 45-day update specifically and the lack of Klingon content in general

    Please note the preceeding ;)

    Patience is a virtue :)

We don't need any butt kissing, going either way. I also don't see why there is a need for an apology for our lack of content, it seems somewhat childish and selfish to desire such a thing when they are going to be giving us some new ship designs and more PvE content, even if that PvE content is nothing but the exploration stuff the Feds get (which I usually avoid at all costs, though know people who love it...for some reason).

I would rather PvP all day than do some PvE, that is just the kind of person I am. The fact we get an awesome new ground map has me excited! It should also be interesting to see the mechanics changes in play.

    ANYWAY...

I can understand your desire to see them move all their focus to giving the Klingons content, but that just doesn't make sense from a company perspective. It isn't fair to the other players to put the rest of the game on hold just so Cryptic can give the Klingons more content a little bit faster.

    You missed the wink emotes?

Of course I don't expect Cryptic to drop everything and work solely on Klingon stuff. But it would be nice if they made a good faith effort and put more time and other resources into Klingon stuff than Fed stuff until there is robust Klingon content (more menaingful PvP and more PvE). If the federation is going to continue to receive more resources and higher priorities than the Klingon faction be honest and TELL US so we can make informed decision. If Klingons are going to get priority and more resources than the Federation TELL US. If you really don't plan/prioritize that way TELL US.

Episodic missions are going to take time, lots of time. Is anyone at Cryptic actually working on Klingon episodic missions? It would be nice to know if they are or are not. THAT is what I mean by a good faith effort.

PvP is not nearly what it could or should be. Many ideas have been proposed. What's the status? What vision does Cryptic have for PvP? Is what we have the vision? TALK TO US in a meaningful way, not like the last "Klingon Ask Cryptic".

Cryptic seems to want players to jump thru bureaucratic hoops to communicate with them, with no assurance there is anyone on the other end listening.

Why not create faction panels made up of player-volunteers to help with commnications? A Klingon High Counsel and a Federation Starfleet Command that can speak with some authority. Before tey get too far down the road with the next faction give them a panel as well. Let the players elect these panels from candidates screened by Cryptic, that way both he company and the CUSTOMERS have some say in the matter.

I admit, I didn't pay much attention to the winks. There are so many players on the forums that actually think that stuff that it felt natural that it was truth. So, sorry :p

Cryptic has said they would like some open PvP, but I don't think it is in an important news post, just a random Dev comment here on the forums. So I think it will come in time, we just have to make the threads and work out what we want....they will read, even if they don't comment. Trust me.

Panels would be nice, but I think they get the info they want/need from the forums already. Seems like a panel like that, while nice, would just be somewhat redundant and a bit of a waste of time. It probably would go a ways in calming the nerves of the players though.
