I didn't feel like reading 40 odd pages of nonsense, so I'll just ask: do these also apply to people who buy a lifetime sub now? I didn't have enough money at the time to buy the bonus version, but if I ever feel like buying a lifetime sub later, I'd like to know if I'll get the perks as well.
The playable Borg, extra player slots, and discounted price are no longer available, but they may make them available again in the future, or even offer better perks, you never know.
The chat channel, the title, the Captains' Table, etc. Are those only for people who have a lifetime sub when they go live, or will anyone who ever buys a lifetime sub be able to get in on all this?
I would imagine those are the baseline perks for all lifetime subscribers whether they have it when they go live or not, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm sure a dev or someone will elaborate further eventually

dont know, noone from cryptic has confirmed either way yet. hopefully someone will update that info soon
From a business sense, not giving the new perks to all lifetime subscribers, (pre-order, current and future) makes not sense. If they only gave to pre-order, why? they already have our money. same with current. If they only gave to future pre-orders, it would leave a bad rep to all that have already paid. And it cost them no more to give to all lifetimers (possibly even less, because code would be more straight forward)
But thats not to say the companies do things that make sense.
The Lifetime Perks will be available to anyone in STO with an active Lifetime Subscription - whether it be pre-ordered, already purchased but after launch, or future purchases.
I suppose it's worth specifically pointing out that anyone who HAD a Lifetime Subscription but canceled it, will not be receiving any of these benefits.
Some people were crying and whining about the game not being what they wanted when they got the pre-order lifetime sub, and Cryptic was nice enough to refund their money. This was really early on and I guess some people didn't realize that what they saw in the Beta was kinda how the final product was going to be...it's not like the head-start was some sort of indication or anything...
I don't think they're refunding LTS's anymore. If I was Cryptic, I sure wouldn't...

will STO ever become more player driven, meaning as more factions are added. Will players take a more active role in shaping the events of the STO universe, such as perhaps voting as members of a faction to declare a war or sue for peace. Will life time subs perhaps begin to fill a role for their factions as council members or such, to help make these decisions? (could be a functional use for your new captain's table).

Doesnt that kinda destroy the point of it?
I guess you mean a refund.
You didnt know that you are charged for the LT sub every month?
