Last night everything was working as usual and then all of a sudden my internet dropped out.
I tried to launch steam to no avail. I was able to use my internet browser and also download but for some reason both my steam version of STO and my independently downloaded version of STO cannot connect to the internet (yes that means i have 2x 10gb STO folders on my HD)
I reinstalled steam and once again it did not work.
I then changed my internet connection to tethering via my Iphone and for some reason both steam and indp STO launchers worked (connected and updated).
This means theres something wrong with my wireless internet at home.
I have AVG running in the background but it has never been a problem.
Anyone experienced the same thing or have anything that could help me?
Cheers,
Felipe
Update: After the Launcher attempt to connect 6 times, the updater comes up and cannot connect, yet the server is 'up'.
My internet just went down, and when i got it back up and try to start up the launcher,
the cryptic launcher autoupdate says "trying to update the launcher, and then im stuck at that, without being able to connect at all.
I also tried to bypass the launcher, but its the same problem, still cant connect to the game network.
i had a similar problem at work.. restart the machine, if that doesn't work, click options and click "force verify".
if that doesn't work.. god forbid... uninstall the game, then use a registry remover like ccleaner to remove the registry entry.. then reinstall and start.. total time taken about 6 hours.... damn... that's a lot of wasted time for no good reason.
