How do I keep the same camera angle? Preferably from behind view of the ship.
If you mean a chase camera that stays locked to the angle of your ship, there isn't one for combat at the moment (you can get one out of combat by having the camera set to follow target and just flying around for a bit, but it doesn't work once you have a target).
The devs have said that they are working on more camera options.

I thank you for the information. As to navigation I don't use the mouse so I was curious why I lost camera angle when fighting. Also some times the camera will pick up position if I rotate the ship and sometimes not. But now I understand it better that you kind people responded. All I guess I can do is just espress a desire and hope that will be addressed at a future time by the devs. Thanks again.

I do use the mouse but it is difficult to use all the keys and mouse at the same time in combat.
Try using your mouse with your left hand - I'm right-handed but I've been a left-handed mouse user for about 20 years now, amongst other things, it helps avoid RSI but I also find it useful in STO.

Navigate with your WASD presets, and not with your mouse.
