You have to claim it in-game. From the C-Store. It turns up as an unlocked item for each of your characters.
While in-game, there's a small down arrow on the upper right hand corner of your screen. It's one of the buttons next to your minimap.
Hit that. It brings up another menu. One of those options is C-Store.
In the C-Store, you'll first see the option to buy the Ferengi and Klingon playable races. But there's another tab you can switch to at the top of that menu. It's called Special Unlocks or something. Hit that.
You'll find the Liberated Borg Bridge Officers in there. Claim the one for your faction (there are Federation and Klingon options).
That'll put the BO in your inventory. I claimed my Borg at launch...back then the BO literally went into your INVENTORY, not your normal Assignments screen. They may have fixed this. But if it ends up in the inventory, just double-click the icon. If it goes into Assignments now, like any other BO, then you should be good.
Anyone know if Amazon's orders still carry this key?
Interesting question. If you're asking if retail boxes purchased from Amazon will contain a key then the answer is ABSOLUTELY. They must contain a key or they are worthless (and Amazon isn't in the business of selling worthless product).
On the other hand, if you're asking if purchases made today from Amazon will still receive this bonus when their key is activated ... then I must point you to the retailers product page. If the retailers product page says you will receive this bonus for your purchase then you will receive the bonus. If it does not. Then you will not.
I've heard conflicting reports. Some say there's still have the key, others do not. It seems to depend on if the warehouse you get your order from has any surplus. It's sort of a gamble.
But much cheaper then buying it off Ebay. people sell the code for in excess of $90.
I actually got the Aus version of the Borg BO from eb games here ...
Code never worked ... not really fussed but am happy I can still play the game
If you're supposed to get the Borg BO, and didn't, you should probably either file a ticket with STO support...or call your local store. Or both, perhaps.
I'm not sure how the Aussie game codes work, though. For US editions published by Atari, the bonus items are attached directly to your retail code. So you only have one code, the one that came with the DVD.
As we've noted in this thread, other countries that got game boxes published by Namco-Bandai often have the bonus item as a separate code, either printed on a flier or e-mailed by the store.
Either way, if you don't have your Borg, and should, you're missing something. If nothing else, file a ticket.
ANyone still sure if you can get the Borg BO from Amazon anymore?
Conflicting reports but seems to be a TRIBBLE shoot. If you order from Amazon, they still seem to have some boxes left with the Borg BO. However, Cryptic's Buy page Details still say you supposed to get it so if you don't then Cryptic should make it right since their page still shows the perks IMO.
As far as I know the Borg BO from Amazon was a PREORDER BONUS. At least from the Amazon shops in Europe. So all who didn´t order the game before releaseday aren´t supposed to have a Borg BO.
My CE came in yesterday and I got the Borg Bridge Officer. My copy was included with the CD Key, no seperate key to enter or anything.
The different key was for international Amazon orders. United States Amazon was tied to the RETAIL key of their first batch. And people as the one I quoted here are still getting them.
And nothing was tied to the preorder keys which is why items were not available in headstart or until you put in the retail key.

i bought a copy from amazon during the 1-day sale last week. i did get a box with the borg bo & the key worked for me.
When i originally ordered the game before launch, amazon had a problem that caused my order to be canceled. at the time i was told by amazon that the keys were sold out. (lucky for me, i got the game paid for & delivered all for under $30). that that amazon
I think the earlier post was correct. amazon has numerous warehouses, and not all of them have the same stock. there is another post that stated if you get your copy (at the time), from their KY warehouse, you get the code. other warehouses probably do not have the code.

When you got the box, was it noted on the outside of the box like I've seen pictures of the box like those selling it on eBay or did you just enter it and cross your fingers?

It's got this sort of ribbon on the top and bottom of the box that pretty much says "ZOMG BORG OFFICER - AMAZON EXCLUSIVE" only obivously in a more marketing friendly way. So there was no doubt that it came with it.

Not quite correct. The Borg BO was a pre-order bonus. There is no guarantee that you will get it at this point.

A little of both.
Originally, cryptic said that you would need 2 keys, the retailer pre-order code (which gave beta access), and the gamecode. I had preordered the ce from amazon, but when they cancled my order accidentally and told me over the phone there were no more in stock, i bought the ce from gamestop, (and love my extra ship).
after that, i contacted cryptic, explained the situation, and was told that if i get the amazon copy i *should* get the borg bo. when the one-day sale hit, i didn't have any reason to wait (although i did stretch my budget to afford it).
when i got the box, much to my joy the offer was printed on the box, so i was overjoyed. (i would have contacted crypic about this to be sure before entering the code otherwise).
If you buy off Amazon though, will Cryptic still "honor" this deal or do you just hope it's one of the special boxes? As much as I like the game I don't need a second CE when I already bought the DD just for the perks.

If he ordered from Amazon UK or any of the other European Amazon branches, then definitely.
I think the bonus is tied directly to the boxed product key for Amazon US copies.

Also, when I got my Amazon box, the borg bridge officer had its own key that you had to redeem that was separate from the game key.
