Does the scoring for medics on pvp count the holds and exposes removed? Is it only healed hit points that count? Same would go for engineers too, does it count builds and their effects? Considering that removing holds and exposes is more important in pvp than plain healing I'd like it to be properly rewarded.
It does count the healing points in the scoring tab. And I'm pretty sure that in a good game where I get alot of healing done I score better with e-creds, honors etc.
I see the healing score but I am always at the bottom of the list. I dont think I have ever killed anyone, shot at them but never enough to be a major contributor.
Ok I just finished the ds9 fleet action. One thing is clear, being a medic is useless. I was in there from the beginning. I healed as fast as I recharged and revived alot of people when I could. I didn't die often as I tried to stay behind the lines. In the end I finished very low in the score. I'm pretty sure that my healing and reviving didn't count in the score at all. Could some developer perhaps shed some light on this? If being a medic doesn't pay off then I will respec to another field.
I thought I saw in one of the Engineering Reports that they're working on a new Fleet Action scoring system (maybe it's already out?) where everyone will have a fair chance of being a top player. I remember reading somewhere that they were working on adding in shield healing to your total healing score as well, among other things.
Here it is:
PVP scoring updates to include shield healing
It's simple, you do a good job, you win. Numbers are meaningless. (Most part)
Here are a few examples, let's say you got DPS tweaked to the max, and you concentrate on this 1 ship that never dies. AWESOME work there buddy! But since you didn't make a single kill, was totally useless.
Kill count is the same too, so you do insane amount of kills. But how are your teammate supporting you, or are you supporting them? Kill counts sure helps, especially in 5v5. But in salvage operations, doesn't count as much.
Science Team does not count as healing.
Any buff you give your ally to prevent them from getting damage, does not count as healing.
People bragging about their heals has nothing to brag about, their shields were always down and they kept spamming engineering team mostly on themselves.
Rule of thumb, it's an mmo (group friendly). Ask this question at every defeat at the end of a PvP match, where did it go wrong? Did you do everything possible? Did you check your damage logs to see what killed you so fast or why your not doing damage?
Numbers are all but pretty, but I never get top numbers on anything, well, except least death. And often then none, I'm one of the few holding our side together. Getting thanked for saving people when all they had when I got to them was only 8% hull.
Numbers are for braggers, skills are for elites. Which one are you?

Ermmm you do realise these meaningless numbers are what determines who gets what at the end of fleet actions right?
As it stands both science players on the ground and science ships (well as soon as feedback pulse is nerfed) are at a disadvantage since their intended roles are mostly based around things that aren't factored into the final scoring.
Even the looting system is set up so whoever does the most damage gets the loot (unless you're grouped)....science ships have two less weapon slots. It's pretty easy for say an escort to come in and go nuts with the DPS and end up with the loot without and real chance of the science ship getting it unless they use feedback pulse which is going to be nerfed so no more loot for sci.

Who gets what at the end of fleet action or any other epic hunting in any MMO has always been the DPS class. This has been a bad design since the beginning of time and speccing a science ship to DPS won't allow a 'Hybrid' type to out DPS an escort.
As for loot and such, you keep dedicating your life to heal and support, you get the rewards.
It's the hardest path which many prefer not to play, but the community appreciation for doing a good job will last until you don't play game no more. Unlike items you can't bring with you after you done playing.
Gaming Experience > Item (ain't it the reason we play mmos?)
Peter it's not about the numbers. It's about the team and team work and a good medic is a force multiplier that should be rewarded as such. If you only reward damage done then what incentive is there for an engineer to build shield generators or medic to use healing abilities? Besides if you don't heal your friends they won't be able to do any damage. Any healing should be equal to damage done and reviving should also be rewarded. For medics and engineers alike. Btw, in pvp action healing is counted but not sure how much it counts in the final score. I was referring to pve actions.

I must agree. There's nuthing more rewarding then "Holy TRIBBLE Man, you saved my %%^&*!!!, You Rock!!" or "OMG Dude - Three of them kept trying to kill you, while the rest of us destroyed them...LOL, Good Job!!"
