Sorry if this has been posted before, I didn't see it. I am playing a Fed Klingon in my character slot, and have equipped him with a Rivera tribble. He cannot get the full benefit of the tribble since it is scared of him, shrieks when he tries to use it, and the only thing that does work is the heal, but in small increments, versus my human character, which the Rivera tribble likes. The game should allow Fed Klingons to claim the Targ since it cannot use the Tribble.

I agree about the Targ. I was surprised you couldn't claim one as Fed Klingon. I think the scared tribble thing for Klingons is a nice touch though.
i understand you want ur health buff and whatnot, but.
You chose to play a klingon, hence teriffied tribble.
And you chose to play a fed, hence no targ.
One cannot simply declare that they should recieve a benefit that in either situation, they would not have.
in my opinion (not that it matters) you are lucky the tribble does anything for you at all. You are a KLINGON for cryin out loud...

Who says the Targ should strictly belongs to the Klingon Empire? It's not a Panda Bear, it's a space pig. I checked every targ I've killed, and have yet to see, PROPERTY OF KLINGON EMPIRE stickers on it. I've seen plenty of tribbles drop from Klingons I'm killing.
On TNG there was an episode where Worf had an illusion of a Targ he had as a child, that's the only thing that comes to mind, but considering that there weren't many Klingons working for the Federation throughout the shows history, I can't imagine that the opportunity was there.

Tribbles don't do anything for my Fed Klingon char or any of my Fed Klingon BOs...
I wonder if Tribble usage should be a 'Fed Klingon's' biggest concern, rather than . . . oh, I don't know . . . 'why do I seem to have so little trouble slaughtering so many of my kin?'
I think it's completely ridiculous the number of Klingons in the Federation. You've got playable Klingons, Klingon BOs, Klingon NPCs, it seems like a never ending stream of them. Apparently there are so many turncoats out there that the last time my Klink was looking for BOs on the Exchange, Feds outnumbered loyal Klingons about 30 to 1. Sad and ridiculous. Maybe the best thing for Cryptic to do is stop working on the Klingon faction and prepare the Romulan and Cardassian factions, then they can fold the Klingon 'Empire' into the Federation and let Klinks play Fed PvE, after all, there are apparently so few loyal Klingons out there that the war is already lost anyway.

To be fair, no one really knows how many Klingons were born on Qo'noS versus how many were born on other planets within the Federation. Being that the game is set well beyond the treaty, many may have been born to Klingon immigrants that settled within the Federation's borders during peace time. It's kind of like the Japanese, Germans, and Italians that were already in the US, and fighting for the US during WWII.
ya, ive never understood why i get more tribble drops from klingons. it just makes no sense. )
I like the explanation I saw some one put forth on the board here. Basically the Klingons are using the tribbles as cheap Undine detectors. If it looks like a Klingon but doesn't make the tribble sequel it's a shapeshifter.

Couldn't the same then hold true for humans and the other various Federation races? Maybe Klinks need playable humans.
BTW, to answer the question on why Klingons have tribbles as loot:
Back when the Undine threat was first realized, the Klingon Empire decided that it was necessary to figure out a way to tell if a warrior was actually an Undine. Many different attempts to figure out a way, using the bodies of the Undine that attacked Ja'rod were unsuccessful. However, one day, the Klingons found a small patch of tribbles. Enraged, they began preparing an assault when they noticed one Klingon got up to the disguasting creatures, and to their surprise, did not scream in horror.
Thus, with the death of that Klingon, it was discovered that the Undine do not cause the same reaction in tribbles as do Klingons. From that moment on, it was by imperial decree that all warriors are to take with them, as standard gear, a large thick leather bag that holds 1 tribble. During security checks and customs, it is necessary for that Klingon to reach into his/her bag, and retrieve the abomination as proof of his lineage.
And that children, is why Klingons carry tribbles.

Actually, given how bat-TRIBBLE crazy B'vat was, and how far he was willing to go to keep the war going after so many years of peace, the number of Klingons in Starfleet is one of the few things that DOES make sense.
If B'vat had to resort to trying to bring back the Doomsday machine, that doesn't bode well for his faith in the ability of the Klingon Empire to win a conventional war.
And well, there are few Klingons in the Empire becuase they have NOTHING to do but PVP, which is often eihter conducted against poorly skilled pants-on-head Fedtards like me or people who think that 11 on 2 is "even odds".
Fed Klingon or not, should not matter just let us use the targ. Should have been disclaimer or something saying the Targ would not work with the fed klingon just to give us a heads up!
What does the targ do btw buff wise, or is it just used for ground combat?

As far as I know, the Targ doesn't buff and is simply a non combat pet and is just thar for looks.
I just love the fact that tribbles play just a vital role in this game.
I ended up pickung up so many tribbles on drops after fighting with Klingons that I gave one to each member of my away team so they can heal up a bit between gun fights. The sound of them sgueaking and purring makes me smile everytime!
Yes, looked like a pigs butt. I did see a label saying "Made in China" on it however, didn't realize Qo'noS was now outsourcing the space pig market. I was a little surprised.

However,
When in any show, movie, cartoon, etc. have you seen a targ, on any federation anything?
(corpse doesnt count)
They are an easily renewable food source. Perfect for long space flights and they taste like chicken.
chikin'
Well, to be technical, Q gave Worf one on the Enterpride-D bridge.
It is in the C-Store, but unclaimable unless you are a Klingon.

I thought of a way Tribbles could work for KDF.
Except... you need a new Tribble after each use.
Couldn't the same then hold true for humans and the other various Federation races? Maybe Klinks need playable humans.

I agree 100%.
Paraphrasing. I am reminded of a scene from "The Good [ Human ], the Bad [Romulan] , and the Ugly [Klingon]"
Is that a Federation targ or a Klingon Targ?
A Klingon Targ, Sir.
Is Klingon Targ tasty?
Mighty tasty, Sir.
Commandeer that Targ.
Did you lift it's tail?
As far as I know, the Targ doesn't buff and is simply a non combat pet and is just thar for looks.

Yeah and he said it was his pet, which may have been when he was being raised by his human adoptive parents on some fed world (Earth?).
I see no reason why a fed Klingon shouldn't get a targ if he can't use his tribble.
