Power Setting buffs? Are they from your skills?

One of the different things I've noticed but haven't yet understood seeing are some bonuses to some power settings. For example, on my Advanced Escort, I'll have my Weapon setting at Default Max but it's actually at 116/100 (+6 from Console) Don't know where that other 10 Weapon power is coming from. Also noticed other power settings that are higher then I'd expect.

Now I'm not saying I don't like this, because I do. I just am wondering what, beyond Consoles, attributes to this. And I'm not talking about Temporary buffs like EPS, Weapon Batteries, or Consoles, but is it coming from skills? If so, which skills contribute to what?

You get +10 weapon power because you're an escort. Also, if you have any of the Efficiency or Performance skills, those will also increase the power levels on their respective systems.

All escorts get +10 weapon power (all science wessels get +10 aux, and all cruisers except the T1 Light Cruiser get +3 to all four power systems).

Starship Warp Core Training boosts power for systems set to less than 75 (the lower the setting, the larger the boost)

Starship <system> Efficiency skills boost power for their system when it is set to less than 75 (the lower the setting, the larger the boost)

Starship <system> Performance skills boost power to their system regardless of setting.

I think that's everything from skills and ships. There are consoles and other items that can also boost power generation, as well as a wide variety of abilities.

Ah, ok thanks, didn't realize that was going on. Hmm. Makes me have to think even harder about where to spend my points for my Lowbie Science officer. :D

    Great Info!

I found 4 skills that match your "Starship <system> Performance" string:

Starship Auxillary Systems Performance (under Admiral)
    Starship Shield Performance (under Capt)
Starship Weapon Systems Performance (under Admiral)
    Starship Engine Performance (under Captain)

I had not put many skill points in all of these because their comments mention example BO skills they improve. I had no idea they boos the ships power numbers directly!

Any idea how much the boost is?

Kiala has done a lot of work on that in this thread:
