I've recently aquired the rank of captain and was eagerly looking forward to getting my hands on the new heavy escort vessel. However, the ship is so damn small that I can barely see it.
Furthermore, while in combat, it is very difficult to even see which direction my ship is pointed in.
So here's the deal...this is the first game I've played online...I am paying for this...monthly.
You guys better start showing me something I can't get from a single player game...and I mean soon.
At least don't tick me off with having me squint to see the ship I've paid for. Unscrew yourselves PDQ.
Unreasonable demands are surely a great way to get the developers to listen to you! (Idly, you can just use the Mousewheel or Page Up to zoom in on your ship, for the record).
But, I hope you at least enjoy whatever single-player games you go back to. o7 Games should always be about fun.

Since this is your first MMO, I'll go easy on you, but you should know that taking that sort of attitude doesn't fly and won't get you any results except the ridicule of people on the forums.
So as to your problem... You can zoom in and out on your ship, or captain when on the ground. I use the roller wheel on my mouse. Try it.

I had the opposite problem. When I fist got my Exploration Cruiser it was so huge I couldnt see whom I was fighting. Then I found the mouse wheel and adjusted the zoom accordingly.
Maybe you should have made a post that went something like this:
"Hey guys, I just got an escort and it's so tiny on the screen! Is there any sort of zoom function so that I can make it bigger? Thank you."
Assuming that there wasn't a zoom function without even asking was your first mistake. Your second mistake was taking a demanding and rude tone in your post.

If you mean ships then I can see them around 26km. At around 22km I can even identify what kind of ship.
Having a large monitor helps considerably.
Got a 22" wide screen monitor so I can see very well by my standards. I was suggesting a zoom ability that allows a player to look closely at the target in question closer than 20 klicks.

Kind of like how in the shows the captain always barks "on screen!" and then "magnify"
Also, at least if you graphics are set high enough, when you start moving little specks will move across your screen, kind of floating by. and the direction that they are floating lets you know the direction your ship is moving with respect to your current camera angle. they also move faster when you move faster. it is a small touch but it does help if you want to stay zoomed out to see more but know how you are moving. also your shields will have a small nub on your forward shield and the ring that appears is larger than you ship and generally sticks out more since it is bright.
i have a hard time with dimensions in this because it is a 3d world rendered in 2d and so i am never really sure if i am going to hit that asteroid or fly over/under it.
I actually wouldn't mind a zoom ability so I can see the enemies at 20km or more.
Thats what I thought this post would be about, also a zoom on the ground ID Binoculars would be nice, but I read it and saw it was just some child making some ridiculous rant. like everyone else said mouse wheel and page up and down

This won't help you when you are banking and turning (as in dogfight)
But if an asteroid is sliding relative to you (on your display) you are not going to hit it (unless it is huge and you are right next to it)... if it seems to be sitting still but getting larger.. you are going right toward it..
I can usually flight right towards anomalies using that trick.

Dude I'm not even going to tell you about the zoom function as so many of my comrades have already done so. But, if you fly an escort and can't tell which is the front it's the bit where the guns fire from.

Snap! A ground based zoom feature with range would rock.
OP
There is an old saying. Engage Brain before opening Mouth.
Don't suppose you even consider going into options controls key binds. I set mine to + and - keys.
Want to know something it zomms in and out, of course you could have just found out what the default keys were and used them.
Oh and trying to blackmail a company because of your own stupidity is never going to work.

2. The developers are not your mommy and daddy, so temper tantrums won't work on them.
Temper tantrums work on Mommy and Daddy? How times have changed and not for the better.
