can't pick up loot

oki so u guys made a new patch and right after that galaxy map fvcked up..its ok i can live with that. but i had a chance in 2 missions to pick up loot with my inventory empty 80% i wasnt able to do so. i understand that ithis thread might be deleted right away, but at least it will give you an idea why pplz leaving....cuz **** don't work..!!! and game is not free as you probably know! Wonder what gets fvcked up after your next patch......:mad: and yeah u free to ban me anyway my due date 17th and no way u getting another 15 bucks from me :D

    Bah, yeah, I couldn't pick up a piece of loot. If it was UBER and 1 of a kind I might get as mad as you, but it was just an Engine that normally sells for 30K.

    So, what were you saying?

    The map issue is ridiculous and very annoying.

    I have encountered many issues with not being able to pick up loot since the last patch.

    But, even though reported, have not and don't expect to hear anything about it from Cryptic.

    I had the same problem after the patch, and it was a huge upgrade.. i ended up double clicking the image of the item to death and eventually i got it.:D

    I had this happen to me after the last patch. However, I don't know if not being able to take the item was a problem with the patch itself or the person I teamed with in the DSE had set the looting so that he was the only one that could pickup items.

    I chalked it up as the Team Leader was an TRIBBLE and set "Master Looter" (or whatever the setting is called), so I immediately left the team.

    Were all of you in Teams at the time this happened? Or not?

    I'm having the same problem here with loot, I hope the devs are aware of the issue and a fix is in the works.

    Running the command /killme does not submit a GM ticket!

Most of the time, this is all you need to free yourself from getting stuck in geometry. If you type /stuck a second time, it will prompt you to type /killme, which brings up the Stuck window. This has some useful self-help buttons and a way to submit a Stuck ticket to ask for GM help.

    The problem is that it doesn't actually submit a ticket if you ask it to. I have no idea how many of you might have done this and been worried or confused because we didn't answer your ticket, and that is upsetting to think about. Unfortunately we have not been able to simply disable the command, but we hope to have the command fixed as quickly as possible. You can still see the self-help options and submit a GM Stuck ticket from the Help and Support menu on your mini-map.


    Trapped: Debris from the wormhole can get players stuck
    As funny as this may sound, getting stuck in a mission called Trapped, it's actually a big deal, and it's been sent to the developers. The problem is that, once stuck, our self-help utilities often don't work to help you get unstuck in this mission. The current workaround is to log out of the game for a little while while the instance resets itself, usually after 15 minutes. When you come back, you should be in the next stage of the mission, and good to go. However, we hate asking players to log out, since it's no fun at all and ruins the flow of the game. The dev team is looking closely at this issue and hopes to have it fixed quickly.


    Preemptive Strike: Behind Enemy Lines: Can't rescue last prisoner
    Our developers are aware of this issue and are working to have the fix tested and in soon.


    Divide et Impera: Admiral Zelle becoming unresponsive
    Admiral Zelle has been behaving erratically for a while. There are a couple of situations where she can become unresponsive before transforming into an Undine, as well as after her transformation. A partial fix is currently in testing, and the dev team is working to resolve remaining issues.


    Cage of Fire/Bajoran Fire Caves
    Yeah, the pathing in this mission isn't good, and that isn't the only issue you've been reporting. The developers are very aware of the various challenges with this mission and have been actively reviewing/fixing each one. There are fixes currently in testing which should hopefully resolve the majority of issues. Keep an eye on the patch notes for when this goes in!


    Scientist rank 9 does not unlock Science Team III
    This actually comes down to a UI/labeling issue. Although the UI states that it's Scientist rank 9 that unlocks the ability to train this power, it's currently being unlocked by Doctor rank 9. The fix for this is currently in testing and should go live soon. At that time, Scientiest rank 9 will correctly unlock Science Team III. Until it's in, please bear with us with the confusing labeling. Also, remember that you can only train class-specific skills to bridge officers if you are of the appropriate class. We are looking into how to communicate this more clearly.


    Line in the Sand: Getting secondary version after the tutorial ends
    This issue does not actually break the game, however it is highly reported. The developers are taking a closer look at what might be causing this, and ways to correct it. For now, the primary impact is that this mission continues to clutter up the mission tracker and cannot be dropped.


    Unable to collect items from loot window
    This has been a difficult issue to track down, but has been widely reported. Players report issues taking all items from loot windows on everything from space anomalies to enemy drops. It is currently being investigated by QA and the dev team.



    Badlands: Losing progress when prompted to leave to Sector Space
    We thought this got fixed a few patches ago, but it has become clear that it is still happening for some players. This mission is being investigated further so we can get this actually fixed.


    Improvements to self-help options for the Stuck UI
    Not exactly a bug, but we've been working to improve and clarify the self-help options available if you get stuck. We hope to clear up confusion and encourage the use of self-help tools, to get you back in game more quickly and with less inconvenience.


    Various missions losing progress
    This is a rather sticky issue, or rather group of issues. There are several missions we've seen reports of that have the nasty habit of losing your progress after telling you they are done, and telling you to move on, or leave to sector space. Generally, they will revert to saying only 2 or 3 mission stages are done, or even prompting you to start over. We're working to identify each mission where this occurs, identify any key reproduction steps, and escalate each one to the developers to fix. Progress will be slow on getting every last one of them fixed, but so far several have been. If you have this happen to you, please try the mission again a second time. If the mission fails again but does not block your forward progression, please submit a bug report and move on. Hopefully we'll have most of these dealt with swiftly.

    Same here, couldn't pick up loot a few times over the last several days, I will agree with you on cryptic not caring if this isnt fixed next patch.

    It's happened to me on ground missions. However its always given me the cheapest item in the loot window. And left the most expensive item. Granted It has been while I was in combat and other stuff was going on. Maybe its a Lag issue? As I've noticed the server has been a little bit sticky.

    Had that happen twice... once on a green item and once on a blue... I didn't notice I hand't picke dup the blue item before I departed the system... got the rgeen tho.

    Here's the trick... if you click 'get items' or 'take all' and nothing happens, double click the item itself!! So far, every time I do that it pops it into my inventory.

    At least there's a workaround while we wait for a fix...

    I have had similar problems, had to abandon some space loot. Was able to recover the last stubborn one, after several attempts.

    Had "earlier" incidents as well, but back then I hardly knew the difference of white and gold drops, pointing to the potential ownership of these items, so the "earlier" experiences could be erroneous memories, overwritten by newer ones, if this is indeed something new.

    But I could swear the problem appeared weeks ago. With that said, some inventory transfers are affected by occasional latency, as in delayed updates of inventory movement. So there is a chance these earlier situations was caused by a similar event.

    In conclusion, these cases of "stuck" or "unrecoverable" loot, is not a completely unfamiliar situation for this user, although not a predominant issue as of these last few days.

    I had it happen twice recently, once on ground, once in space, when I was not teamed.

    I've had this happen too, but was not in a team at the time. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't - I haven't noticed a pattern yet. :mad:

    1 time blue eng console mk6 another time mk6 weapon.

    Yup, that works for me too. If you can't grab the item double left click the line in the window, or click on it to highlight it and hit the Take all.

    Oh wow!!! You got em with that tricky lil move huh? /hi5!!! I bet as soon as some Mod or Dev reads this they'll be like "Oh, I'm banning this dude" only to read more and they'll realize you just PWND them!

    And why the hell does everyone keep calling someone who doesn't leave right when they do for the same reason a "fanboi"?

    I've had it once or twice, normally just rapidly clicking will eventually pick it up. Its a know bug, and I've only seen it in DSEs so far. Not sure if its only high level, but they are working on it.

    Seen it a number of times, but luckly I figured out the first time double clicking the actual item icon does work. So far always has bypassed the problem, at least 6-8 times, so at least theres a workaround. Also passed it on to someone else who had a problem and it worked for them as well. Seems maybe its a UI bug with the loot button?

    Had it happen in space and ground missions but the icon double clicking does seem to work around it, still is irritating when you have to stop what your trying to do to force the game to let you loot >_<

    I've had this happen in the 'Line in the Sand' Introduction/tutorial mission!!!

    The best thing to do, is when it happens, keep that 'pick up' prompt open, and use that 'Bug Report' feature to help the Dev's track this issue down... (but it was sort of hard doing that in-between attacks from damaged Borg Spheres and Cubes...)

    There are already several of these threads in the Gameplays Bug forum, so its better to make posts in one of those then here...

    The only time it's happened to me is when I'm on a team.

    When it happened while my wife and I were running together, we figured out why (I think). Our PCs are on the same desk (corner desk) and we can see each others' monitors; the globe was yellow to both of us. She picked it up first, and when I tried (it was still there and yellow to me) the item showed in the box, but I was unable to take it.

    This happened later on a ground mission, only I was the one able to get the item (by clicking first). The sad part is, the one who received the item both times got a minor item; the items we were not able to retrieve were shields and dual cannons.

    I don't know for sure that this is the answer, but it has happened this way multiple times when my wife and I were running together, always the same way.

    Hmmm.... do you think this may have something to do how the loot protocol was set up by the team leader? Instead of round robin or need/greed a kind of free-for-all? That doesn't make sense tho.

    Like I said - if this happens, double-click the item and it should move to your inventory... does for me.

    Anyhow, with the trolling from the quote above asside,

    If the Take All button doesn't work.. try double clicking the item in the dialogue box itself.. it works every time and it is a no - brainer.

    Usually this happens on group setting of Need/Greed with the Loot options set to green or higher, thus it effects common items the most. A simple double click of the item icon and it goes into your inventory.. simple work around.

    The last 4 or 5 times this has happened this week (in solo play), double clicking (both right and left) had no effect on the reluctant item drop I was stalking, so this doesn't always work!!!

    Always works for me.. sometimes I have to close the window and re-Open, but so far, no loot left behind.

    When it doesnt let me pickup loot i simply try and go to a different postion of the map to pick it up and it works.

    Protocol was set to round robin (I was the team leader). We'll try double-clicking the item itself; thanks for the tip.

    I'm having no luck with this. I'm soloing and I've tried double-clicking loot, coming in from different directions, dragging and dropping, clicking the "Take" and "Take All" buttons.

    I even tried changing my default party loot setting but it won't change from Round Robin. It's stuck there. Shouldn't matter because I'm not in a team but who knows?

    It's very frustrating picking up loads of worthless batteries and anomalies then finding rare stuff and you can't access it. I've had this happen a couple times today and it seems random (in a deliberately malicious way as it's only the good loot I can't snag).

    Edit: In frustration I was about to relog. Then suddenly, just before I hit the Log Out button, a series of system messages flashed before my eyes. My loot default suddenly changed and I acquired the item.

    This must be lag related. Some elements of the engine seem to have different priorities when the system is stressed. You can fly and fight and talk but changing gameplay options and looting seems to be delayed. Unless my attempt to log out triggered something. Or someone responded almost instantly to my bug report (which I find unlikely).
